What's the dumbest internet fight you've been apart of?

The absolute dumbest one was back in the day when me and couple of people really had at it arguing on how the fuck Toad could drive the kart in Mario Kart double dash, it was so fucking stupid yet so many people got modded in that topic for flaming because of how heated it got.

Was the argument because his feet/legs are too short?

If so, how did they justify King Boo, or several small characters on that gold car?

Wasnt involved, but on a Star Wars board at the time Revenge of the Sith was about to be released, there were fans heavily flaming each other over what color lightsaber Kenobi and Skywalker would duel with.

I used to fight over waifu on other titles

I was in an argument about a game on some board here, only for the the dude passionately arguing about how bad the game was to admit hed never played it

I can't go into detail but basically a user here that I've now blocked tried to start a fight with me over the most benign comment, just looking to start shit, I defended myself and tried to defuse the situation with humor because it really wasn't that important, and I got moderated for trolling.

Had to have been with some chud who tried to convince me that Dumpy had classified documents in his possession for his memoirs.

And it wasn't just Dumpy... ALL presidents are allowed to take CLASSIFIED documents at the end of their term so that they can write their memoirs - the book that people (who are not entitled to see classified documents) could potentially read.

Even when I tried to spell it out for him, he was still convinced that this is totally legit.

I distinctly remember one of the only times I ever caught a feeling in an internet argument was here with Prelude2Entropy. Don't remember what it was about but RIP to that dude even though he was a fucking asshole.

oh yeah there was also the time a guy who said he was in serious debt was advocating for everyone to give to the poor until they physically did not have enough money to give away anymore

First one that comes to mind is before OoT came out. Early impressions a few weeks before release revealed you automatically jumped at the edge of platforms, and a ton of people on forums were threatening to cancel preorders.

Also because Link had an earring (a screenshot with just him having a right earring revealed it), but that's a whole other can of worms.

My family

During the Pandemic with a guy who was trying to convince people that there was no such thing as a virus, and therefore covid was all shadowy one world government stuff.

He kept linking to a notorious conspiracy bullshit website, run by a complete nutcase who had a breakdown because they wouldn't let him edit Wikipedia.

I'm ashamed to say that I flamed and mocked the guy, when he was probably a bit mentally unwell himself.

People on Twitter are fighting right now because Honkai Star Rail fans are going ballistic over their headcanon of the new character Robin being lesbian.

Some of this posts are hilarious, because some of these people are going nuts and acting like she's real and saying "she's not into you" when they make straight posts about her

Its usually something on gamefaqs thats for sure, lol. I am pretty sure I got blocked by someone who got upset (which ironically enough I was supposed to be the one emotionally invested about the sales) in that final fantasy 7 rebirth sales topic on this board like 2'wish weeks ago or something like that.

Around when star ocean 2 R got announced there was this topic on the xbox series s/x boards where some dude was throwing a hissy fit about the game not having a xbox version, and according to him the reason was because sony paid to keep the game off the xbox. Me:...."this makes absolutely no sense. What reason could sony possibly have to spend money to keep whats basically flashy remaster with a few remake elements of this old a bit niche jrpg away from the xbox, a console that is all but dead in japan and does not have a huge jrpg gaming community on the console? Also this is a game that is also releasing on the switch and the PC day 1, so it isn't like this is a exclusive game or a paid exclusivity time period type of deal".

Dude was mad/starting a argument and 100 percent convinced sony paid for star ocean 2 r to not be on the xbox. (Final fantasy 7 remake was brought up as an example, but this also is nowhere near equivalent to star ocean 2 R's situation since FF7 remake right from the beginning was known to be a behind the scenes sony funded/playstation exclusive with a PC port incoming. That and FF7 specifically is just a way bigger name that in their eyes was actually worth paying for).

That whole thing was just fucking stupid, and I am pretty sure the topic is still archived and available to read.

*I'm also assuming the user is still sore about it since they attempted to pick a argument out of me on the stellar blade board but the whole thing just came off as meh*

Also the character yamato from one piece is a whole can of worms that gets pretty heated discussions on both this website and reddit.

Calling it a fight is a bit of a stretch but I remember a debate over duck vs duct tape on 261.

idk if i've ever gotten into an argument or fight, whether online or offline. not sure if that's good or bad. oh well.
