At restaurants, the different preparation styles for the meat are listed separately in the menu. So you might see something like ground beef, machaca (shredded beef) and steak all listed.

Right? I had an issue at a chinese restaurant where I wanted beef then asked the server what kind of meat it was. Everybody including my friends looked at me weird. And I was like well it could be cow, pork, goat....all of those are considered beef.

SEXY SEXY!
I don't order fajitas

No they're not. Beef is the meat of cattle. Pigs and goat are not cattle

not in English. 'beef' means 'meat from a bovine'.

Mexican cuisine uses more parts of the cow than a lot of others.

Otherwise there's nothing to denote the difference between a basic ass ground beef taco and one with lengua.

In terms of the topic at hand, I mean, I have no idea what the dude you responded to is talking about.

Ground beef is for tacos and enchiladas, etc.

Its not fajita meat.

Fajitas can have chicken, steak, sometimes shrimp even.

Fajita tacos are tacos with fajita meat, usually soft tortilla flour or corn.

Fajitas are served with the meat separate from the tortilla, corn (maize) or flour (harina) and the meat is cooked with sliced onion and bell pepper. The meat can also have fajita marinate and is prepared on the grill.

this is served with pico and guacamole, sometimes shredded cheddar cheese or shredded lettuce salad, with refried beans and Spanish rice on the side.

But the beef gets served at Mexican restaurants for Fajitas.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you're referring to ground beef, no it is not. Steak is used for beef fajitas.
