I dont know im not sold on him being that smart and successful purely on his own merit

he already had a rich daddy who fronted him all the money to make his company. no way could he have done all that if he grew up in East Los Angeles like I did no matter how bright he is

I mean it's a two sided thing. Rich people get richer, but as we saw with Trump, he got money and lost most of it, while Musk got money and became at one point the richest man on earth.

So yea, getting a head start is nice, but it's clear some people are fuck ups and others just sorta fail up.

In the beginning at least, he did better than most people who had comparable opportunities. The problem is that "people with comparable opportunities" is a laughably small percentage of the total population. But regardless, however smart he was ~10 years ago doesn't make him any less of a shithead today. Being so successful you can surround yourself with an impenetrable wall of yes-men causes actual brain rot.

Im impressed with some of his accomplishments, while also thinking he has coasted on those accomplishments for some time. Since then, he has shown himself to be an egotistical manchild, and has been an outright failure in other regards (in particular, Im looking at you, formerly known as Twitter).

im not even jealous of it as much as others are

the reason why is because I know he did nothing special or particularly impressive to get where he is. he mainly got there because he was already rich and daddy helped fund his vision. so really, he was set up for success.

if he grew up working class, I promise you he would have never even gotten close to where he is

I'm more impressed with Trump. Some semi famous rich guy who you rarely thought about became president and a God to some people. This is after he became fat, orange and weird. When he became the GOP candidate against Clinton, I remember this very board laughing about the GOP giving up the presidential race. Then on election night, still laughing when Trump had an early lead and people wondering why, kinda laughing when he kept that lead and utter shock when he won, impressed.

This, he did fine with those companies but he shoulda stuck to that since he's shown time and time again how stupid he is when he tries to talk about anything else, especially with all the politics stuff he has done lol and how fragile his ego turned out to be

Half of that is due to his substance abuse problem (he thinks it makes him work better/be more creative) Abusing amphetamines so that he can work (reportedly) up to 14 hours a day. Then he abuses sleeping pills to nullify the effects of the amphetamines so that he can sleep.
CNS depressants make you lazy and apathetic (but calm.)
CNS stimulants make you impulsive and give you a feeling of invincibility.

If you listen to any recent interview with him he comes across as a total idiot. Either he was the right person with enough savvy and money at the right time to get where he is, or he used to be smarter and has completely lost it, it's hard to say. His idiotic posts and awful humor make it feel like he's maybe stuck in the early 2010s when he was at his peak cultural influence. He's also not responding to backlash well and has been diving deeper into incredibly far right ideology on twitter.

He himself barely has done anything.
He used his dads money to invest in other peoples stuff which made him money. Then he took other peoples ideals and items and basically updated them with current tech and became super rich off it.
its easy to do that stuff when you have unlimited funds.
hes not a people person, no one likes him apparently even when he was younger. They just like his money.
but for his accomplishments does he really have any? Has he really invented anything new?
The last few years all hes done is tanking stocks, bring down numerous companies values and almost bankrupting companies.

Whoever came up with the concept of "selfmade millionaire/billionaire/success", I'm positive was also really bloody rich, manipulative, and deserves jail time for swaying the masses in the wrong direction.

We all know that most people had a ton of help to make it to the top, but the general sentiment of being scornful to someone who achieves their success is what angers me because wealth generation for most people is a team effort; generally across multiple generations . Your family is your biggest asset. Having them financially support your endeavor directly, them letting you live in their house while you sort yourself out and get your career going, those are all critical support that allows you to take on opportunities that normally wouldn't be available to you. The investment doesn't have to stop once you reach a legal adult status but too many people think otherwise.

But back to the topic, Elon Musk was an early internet pioneer. To see the potential in the technology and jump on board to help bring it to life always earns my respect in my book, especially as one following their footsteps with the Web3 revolution.

Look, here's the reality. He was born into money and made some smart investments, spent money on fun and bombastic things, and early on he had good handlers and smartly listened to them and let himself develop a good brand. But then he bought into his own manufactured hype and stopped listening to the folks that crafted his persona. Now he's little more than a braindead moron that tanked Twitter and is in the process of tanking Tesla, all while outing himself as a far right asshole.
Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.
