There are limitations. For example, would you want rampant hate speech to be uncensored? Either way, from an optics perspective, it doesn't look good to be fighting on this particular case, like when people got upset over the modification to underwear in Chrono Cross.
The victim complex goes hand in hand with hypocrisy.
The group who wants hate speech unchecked, are the same people seeking to censor lgbt stuff.
But if you clamp down on hate speech, they'll cry censorship.
