First thank you for the long post. It took time to write that and I don't want to discount it. However you really didn't say how they should protest. Like specially what should they do. Remember a school canceled commencement because there was going to be a pro-Pal speech.

Liberal idea of a protest is basically the Macy's Day Parade. Vietnam, Civil Rights, Stonewall etc. were all "disorderly" protests.
These students were peacefully protesting and were met with violence by the police. Police that were called by their schools. Fuck a broken window the police are breaking students' faces with non-lethal rounds. Counter protesters are throwing explosives into encampment. Boo hoo someone broke a door or whatever.
