It would be more beneficial to just keep the account open and only use it when theyre about to close it for inactivity. The credit score system is kinda dumb.

Yeah, your score likely suffered a bit for the credit check and the increase in your total available credit limit will help the score be healthier when you take debt with other cards in regards to your debt to credit limit ratio.
