Ortiz, and Yellowfin Portofino were the best for me. Especially Ortiz. Good Lord. Beware though, it's $17-20 per can. Portotinos are about $3.

I've only heard of one of those

Other:

It is a brand I order online called Natural Catch tuna. It is high quality Yellowfin Tuna. Actual filets. It is so good and it absolutely is better than stuff like Wild Planet by a wide margin. Reasonably priced.

I chose this but admittedly don't have access to and haven't tried some of those other brands. It absolutely needs to be Yellowfin though. No albacore or even lower Skipjack. And I just feel sorry for those people who eat Chicken of the Sea or Starkist.

After googling King Oscar looks pretty quality really.

I don't like tuna, but I like King Oscar sardines.

I'll have to check the brand, but tuna in oil can be really great. Sometimes. It's kinda random.

chicken of the sea
I typically pick between Clover Leaf, and Ocean's, depending on what's on sale.

People that only know of Tuna from Starkist, Chicken of the Sea, or Bumblebee are really missing out. I recommend starting with Portofino Yellowfin, Genovina, and Wild Planet. If you want the absolute best after those, Ortiz.

Tuna is Tuna
I just buy the store brand
Constant isolation and distress.
Chunky gives more bang for your buck

Plus it practically flakes itself when you're taking it out of the can
I feel well put
FCF Co. bumblebee tuna

i do like king oscars kipper snacks but for some reason they dont agree with my stomach anymore and tuna is following

I'm assuming those are much more expensive? Yeah haven't had them.

I get the cheapest brand that's in water and contains only tuna, not vegetable broth (which is mostly soy). It usually ends up being the organic store brand (not the usual store brand).
I only buy StarKist. Chicken of the Sea is always too mushy and that's the only canned tuna I've had.

Other. Get a steak (that is, TUNA steak), or get out.

There is a reason that every anime and such-inspired game treats it like a legendary fish.

Its because the fish meat itself is awesome. That said, its a shame that we won't have many of them soon. The oceans are dying. Soon, the only remaining viable fish (not just tuna either) will probably be canned mush.

Oh, and don't suggest farmed stuff. ANY farmed fish is fed stuff from fishing fleets, often Chinese ones.

Starkist. It's the only canned tuna I've bought, and it's never done me wrong.

Natural Catch is $60 on Amazon for a 4.4 oz pack of 12. So around $18 a pound which is more than fresh tuna.

StarKist is $25 for a 5 oz pack of 24, making it less than half the price for more than twice as much food.

I just buy canned tuna to put in recipes or make tuna salad. If I want an actual expensive Tuna fillet I'll go to the seafood section.

I dont use Amazon. I buy it directly from them and order 24 at a time for a slightly better discount. Plus they always send me emails for 10 to 15% off. It usually comes out to about $80 some dollars for 24 cans. Undoubtedly more than Starkist or Chicken of the Sea but much better tuna.

Starkist Tunas are basically the chunk of meat you'll find at fast food places. Brands like Ortiz is basically like Kobe beef. Like butter, shit just melts in your mouth. There's a clear difference. I thought "It's just fucking canned tuna" as well before. Obviously not something you want to consume on a daily basis if you aren't rich as they can cost up to $20+ per small can, but I say give it a try atleast once, than again, it may ruin Tuna for you forever once you go back to Starkist.

I don't like tuna

Many Bothans died to bring you this post.
Starkist (and Bumblebee, etc.) is so cheap because it has "vegetable both" as filler, and soy counts as a vegetable. Read the ingredients.
Today I learned you can get fancy can tuna
