Rune Factory 4 Special (Switch)

Anyone here play it? How does it compare to other farming games? I saw it on sale at GameStop and bought it for my sisters birthday tomorrow.

Im a Rune Factory fan. Started off as a Harvest Moon fan (Story of Seasons) and ended up loving the spin-off even more. Whenever a Switch recommendation comes up I always recommend this game 100% of the time.

It is largely considered the best in the series. I wont disagree but I have a soft spot for Tides of Destiny (Oceans) on PS3 as it was an actual console designed game as opposed to a handheld. I had high hopes for Rune Factory 5 on the Switch hoping it would be more console like but it just runs so poorly on the Swich I cant recommend it.

Anyway Rune Factory 4 Special is a great game and a hell of a purchase in my opinion. Sooooo good and charming.

RF4 is crack.

I spent hundreds of hours in RF4 and didn't even finish everything I could completion wise. It's a very fun, addictive game. Very laid back progression as well.

I prefer 3 personally but 4 is good too

This was not on my Radar.. Maybe I should look at it. I've only ever played the gba version.

Okay good. Both me and my sister grew up on these games starting with HM64. I can't remember which Rune Factory game she played on handheld but I remember her playing it all the time.

Its one of the better ones. Its fast and snappy, it doesnt hold your hand too much, you can go about things however you want.

the story is there and it has just enough to push you along, but it isnt special or too interesting. The characters are all cliches, but the do it in a good way. You can actually befriend most characters and take them into battles with you.

the battle system is simple, but it has a lot of options and a lot of different weapons are viable. Nothing is useless. Most hard battles go into cheesing, but it doesnt have to.

its probably the best story of seasons game. Good marriage partners, decent farming, good gameplay s of ways to play it and they are all useful.

only weak point is a story that never gets as deep as you think it will be, and sometimes the combat gets repetitive.

I realized I was thinking of summon knight. This game looked similar but wasn't it. I've not played either or but my ex was into it.
