I wish I was as brave as you, Harpie, back when I was desperate and job searching I nearly took an 8 dollar an hour job at a family dollar had it not been for them having some kinda registering issue while we were in the back room causing me to leave I would have had that piece of crap job instead of the one I have now, you see, after that my cousin, floated me a job offer from a company and I applied not expecting much, low and behold I've been here for over a year now.
Sadly, we're under new management whose ideals are the dreaded "Profit driven "motivations not only have the rules become basically threatening to write us up for every little thing now but starting tomorrow cell phones are not even allowed to be on our person even through I rely heavily on my cell phone to control my hearing aids and have told them as such, that being said I won't comply with this, without my ears I straight up can't hear just like without my glasses I straight up can't see, the worldi s a mess of blurs to me without them and the world is on borderline silent mode without my hearing aids.
You know what you're worth, don't let anyone tell you otherwise no matter how aggressively dickish they are, people like do that because they want to get away with screwing over workers, stolen wages are actually a big problem in the workforce but little is done to combat it
CE should have general threads for work discussion white or blue collar, I feel like a lot of us have shit to say about this fucking rat race.
