I stopped by my bank today to get some cash out of the ATM and this was the first time I've seen something like this. So I put in my debit card and instead of asking me for my pin number like it usually does, it's asking me for my CVV code. Thought that was very strange so I used the touchscreen to say I was done with the transaction and I got my card back. Went to the machine right next to it and put in my card and this time it's asking for my pin number like it normally does.

Go on with my business and about a minute later some guy went up to the machine I was on before and started to use it and it seems like he didnt have any problems with it. Didnt look at his screen to see if it asked him for his CVV too. Do you guys think they may have attached one of those skimmer machines to the first ATM? Dont they usually ask for your CVV for credit card related stuff? Never seen it for debit cards.
Violence, speed, momentum
Sounds super sketchy. I'm always worried about those skimmer machines, especially at the gas pump
There is no good. There is no evil. There just is.

I pay via the gas station app.
Just call me Discount Dan.
Skimmers are terrifying. I pretty much only use my credit card for payment these days.

Not sure what was up with that atm tho

I havent used cash for over a decade now, except for things like parking meters or fundraisers at work. Nothing is unhackable but using Apple/Samsung Pay or payWave on your card pretty secure. Must suck in America where they dont even have eftpos everywhere yet though
