I think there's a legal difference between farting in general and say pulling your pants down and farting directly in someone's face. The latter qualifies as assault.

Farting comes from the opposite end and is therefore the opposite of speech. So technically the first amendment prohibits farting.

Theres a bar in downtown Phoenix that has a no crop dusting sign on the wall. Thought it was a joke at first but its next to the no firearms sign.
