Depends on where you live. Plan to die alone or for a very mundane retirement with 5k a month. Not enough to raise a family, especially in metropolitan areas with a higher COL. Forget about any travel or vacations that people typically do after retiring.
imo the $5k/month would make it very easy to raise a family.
the topic doesn't say it's the only income everyone in the family gets, it's just
you
one person takes $5k/month to be a stay at home parent essentially, and the spouse gets a job with healthcare, etc.
