When should I play MGS Twin Snakes

As a remake of MGS, is it better to play Twin Snakes after MGS, or after MGS2 to best appreciate it? Im gonna be playing the non-canon Ghost Babel after MGS1 regardless

never. play ghost babel instead and move on to 2.

For the pure gameplay aspect I think it makes sense to play it after MGS2 since it released before Twin Snakes and is where that gameplay originally came from

However, control wise, with the game being on Gamecube, there is an argument to be made that you should play Twin Snakes first before MGS2 because it doesn't control as well due to being limited by the Gamecube control scheme, which could make going from MGS2 to Twin Snakes not feel as enjoyable as it could. I definitely felt this personally when I did my playthrough of the games recently and went from Twin Snakes to MGS2. It just felt more natural to play on the Playstation controller. The Twin Snakes is fun but it definitely is hampered by the controller in some ways

TS then MGS2 seems right if you're spacing your playthroughs out. If not do MGS2 then TS so the story beats feel more fresh.

Just stick with the original.

Agree with the skip it crowd. There's definitely no reason to replay the same game (only worse) after playing MGS1, and if you've played MGS1, anytime you 'should' play Twin Snakes you should just replay MGS1 instead.

I think it's a poster-child for a remake done wrong. Worse gameplay, worse voice acting. Awful game that should only be played by people with a Gamecube alone.

Im spacing out my playthroughs. Im also going in it with the mind that it is not a very traditional remake and is very different from the original

Its the same game as MGS story wise except for some dumb action movie stuff, and you'll be rehearing a ton of the same dialogue so if you play it immediately after MGS1 you'll be a little burnt out.

People love to exaggerate about how bad it is, but MGS2 gameplay is very fun so Twin Snakes is still pretty enjoyable. I would save it for after 2 because you'll be coming right off that game's gameplay and feel right at home, and it'll be long enough since MGS1 for the repeated story to feel a bit fresher

I had this game but like 10 year old me wasn't gonna figure it out because I was a dumb kid

Subsistence and Peace Walker are the best though
