How bad for the country would it have been if Romney won in 2012?

If Romney won in 2012, Trump wouldnt have run in 2016. But how bad would Romney have been?

What is that timeline like?

2016 wouldve been Romney vs Clinton, and no matter who won there I feel like both would have handled the pandemic much better than Trump leading to a lot fewer deaths, and the economy wouldnt be quite as fucked from supply chain issues as it currently is
