...yeah so they're bringing more attention to the issue. They aren't bringing attention to anything. They got drowned out by the Jerry! chants almost immediately because the majority of people in that crowd aren't sensitive little bitches who cry over jokes lol
and attempting to cancel a billionaire who supports genocide
who cry over jokesIs it the jokes they were upset about, or the serious things
They aren't bringing attention to anything. They got drowned out by the Jerry! chants almost immediately because the majority of people in that crowd aren't sensitive little bitches who cry over jokes lol
Walking out of a speech doesn't accomplish anything besides making them look like crybaby bitches. Aww did their feelings get hurt?
They aren't bringing attention to anything. Think they brought attention to it just fine.
really cuz im pretty sure were taking about it right now. Think they brought attention to it just fine.Having people point and laugh at you isn't the W you think it is.

Seems pretty rude. In the real world you're going to have to work with people you disagree with. You can't just walk out of a job.Good thing this wasn't a job then.
Seems you are familiar.I bet he would have a very different reaction if the beliefs of the parties involved were reversed.
Having people point and laugh at you isn't the W you think it is.You dont seem to be laughing, you seem upset or even angry that they did this.

Being a student is not a job.No it is not.

No it is not.This. It just shows how childish they are.
But if you have the mentality that if everyone here doesnt think like I do, Im walking away., youre going to be walking away A LOT.
No it is not.plenty of other people there don't think like they do, that's not the reason they walked out

Like... a commencement speech is one of the perfect times TO exercise your freedom of speech and show your disapproval of a guest invited that you do not agree with. What a silly complaint.Or any surprise guest speaker.
This. It just shows how childish they are.I don't know if you're one to talk about "acting childish", little buddy.
plenty of other people there don't think like they do, that's not the reason they walked out
the reason they walked out is because the university was giving a platform to a noted ass
For people who don't care and think walking out of a speech accomplishes nothing, they sure are upset that the students didn't shut up and listen. So upset they feel the need to immediately run to insults over different opinions.
For people who don't care and think walking out of a speech accomplishes nothing, they sure are upset that the students didn't shut up and listen.Im not upset at all.
not everyone is going to have the same views as you do, and just walking away isnt going to make it disappear.
bigblu89 posted... What I do know is that seeing this wouldnt change my opinion on anything that I currently believe in, even if I was the speaker they all walked out on.
No it is not.

I think the students should voice any opinion they want.
I would also be pissed off if that was my kid's graduation and it got ruined by some protestors.
Both things can be true
Who said it would? In my opinion, and its just my opinion, as flawed as I admit it may be, but protests like this do nothing. This will 100% be forgotten by tomorrow.
So are people just never supposed to protest anything? Is there some sort of committee it needs to be run by in order to determine the level of change it will cause and if it's worth it versus how people completely uninvolved with said protest will rage about it?

If you want to truly see a change in something you believe in, get involved. Get involved with people that actually have power to make the changes. Volunteer with your local political leaders. Perhaps run for some sort of office yourself.
Again, this it only my opinion, and admittedly flawed, but silent protest and sharing tweets and likes accomplishes nothing. Dont hope for changes, MAKE the changes yourself.
walking away isnt going to make it disappear.Doesn't need to.

So then they shouldn't do it. Ok.
You know all of the people who walked out aren't?
So only do approved protests then and if it's not approved then obviously you aren't doing anything else. Ok.
His wife has funded some of the counter protestors who support Israel
Was it a surprise that he was going to be there?no clue if his being there was a surprise or not (i doubt it was), but there's plenty of motive to attend the event regardless. i'm sure plenty of the people who walked out returned after he left-- it's not like they went to graduation just cause and then left, they probably had people they cared about graduating, which was why they attended in the first place.
I mean, I get the idea. The visual of a few hundred people walking out might make the university think twice about who they pick for their graduation speakers, but this was also after all of their checks clears that (partially) paid Seinfelds appearance fee.
On one hand, I commend them for having a belief system theyre willing to to stand up for, on the other hand, I repeat what I said not everyone is going to have the same views as you do, and just walking away isnt going to make it disappear.it's not just walking away? it's protest. obv it's not going to trigger immediate societal change but it makes a statement and spreads the message
Not wrong. They are doing absolutely nothing for Palestine.
What difference does it make how you would personally behave?
What's interesting is that you wouldn't even consider the thought of changing your opinion on something because you happen to dislike their method of awareness.
Now youre just being purposely obtuse
OK. Lets play hypothetical, because I know this is a conversation weve had on here before. And please let me preface this with me saying that none of this is being said with malice, Im just creating an example.
Youre asked to make a speech in front of 1000 people. The speech, for whatever reason, covers your views on abortion (a topic weve had conversation about in the past, so I know your stance). As youre giving the speech, 200-300 people walk out as they boo you.
Does that change your stance AT ALL?

I hope we're getting ready to see Heavy_D_Forever getting voted off the islandDont worry. He will be.
Jerry: "They walked out on my speech!"LMAO
George: "walked out on your speech!?"
Jerry: "right out!"
I'm being purposely questioning your silly logic of something that doesn't concern you what-so-ever. Whether you want to call that obtuse or not, that's not my call.Unless we were at this commencement speech, it doesnt concern any of us unless we were there.

Someone posted the tweet on here, and were all giving our opinion on what happened.
Walking out takes what is called "a backbone", something the right has forgotten to have.
