The REmake is already the best of the remakes. Not sure why they're doing that.Doing over the shoulder style and adding/changing story elements like the other recent remakes would make it a different experience than REmake.
That's a pleasant surprise (assuming it's true). REmake was over 20 years ago and a new remake in the style of the RE2&3 remakes has a lot of potential.
They need to do Code Veronica. DesperatelySeriously this one gets no love, but fun.

get rid of save ribbons
Reremake
They need to do Code Veronica. DesperatelyApparently RE2R and onward are redoing the story and setting a new continuity, so the events of that game may not exist in the new continuity. Will be interesting to see how a RE5R works without Code Veronica though or particularly RE6R, since the Code Veronica virus was part of what made the C-Virus.
They can't, they need a game with Wesker as a primary focus and 1 is the best spot. They can easily do another remake in the style of 2 - 4's remakes. But they only barely put Wesker in the end of 4, and considering his entire presence in 5 is based on the Chris - Wesker relationship, it makes sense to do a game with both Chris and Wesker.
They must really hate Code VeronicaIt's the lowest selling of the main series. They probably don't think a remake would sell well enough to be worth it financially.
They should just update the graphics and voice acting, get rid of save ribbons, and leave everything else the same.
Are you suggesting that 5 isnt a game with both Chris and Wesker?
Good. The first remake has aged terribly. The controls and fixed camera angles are actual garbage in 2024.
How about they just release remastered versions of the first three REs? Now that's something I'd actually spend money on.god yes

If true, how would they change it? Over the shoulder works, but going be tricky in the tight halls.
will they relax on ammo? New areas?
If true, how would they change it? Over the shoulder works, but going be tricky in the tight halls.Besides OTS, they could definitely add new areas. The mansion layout could be expanded a bit and some things shifted around. There could be more buildings on the mansion grounds. The lab area was always pretty small and could be expanded. Maybe new enemies and story elements (similar to how Lisa Trevor was added in the 2002 remake). It could also be an opportunity to differentiate Chris and Jill's games a lot more.

Limited saves is a good mechanic if you want to build tension. Part of what makes the original game work is all the limited resources. You are always managing your resources and that includes saves. By limiting saves you get the type of consequences for dying that causes fear. Similar to what Dark Souls mantes to do without actually being a horror game. Nothing makes an enemy scarier than knowing if you die there will be consequences. If you just reload from the last checkpoint right before the enemy appeared it's not really scary.
And yet... they still won't remake Dino Crisis 1..... wtf Capcom.
