I guess the first that comes to mind for me is Revue Starlight. Which maybe sounds like a weird answer since it got a sequel movie... but tbh I wasn't really that thrilled by the movie and thought the TV series was nice and conclusive as-is
That's funny that you mention Revue Starlight. I also liked the TV anime's ending and thought the sequel movie was unnecessary, but then the movie turned out to be
absolutely amazing
and provided (what I thought was) an even better ending than the TV series. We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one.
