I guess it depends more on character and disposition, for me.

like, if I like their energy, they're good, respectable people, are interesting/fun, etc., then yea, I could see it happening.

We have been conditioned to believe intellect is a sign of virtue... it is not, there are extremely smart people that are mean, shallow, hurtful and sadistic.

I am not saying intelligence is bad, but that it is morally neutral.

Having said that intelligence is a plus, but I'll take a dumb kind person who shares my values over a mean smarty-pants who doesn't.

It depends on the limits of their lack of intelligence. If they're bad with math or can't follow business principles, that's fine. If they're a flat earther or don't believe in vaccinations, it won't work out.

As an almost preternaturally gifted polymath, I am only comfortable in the presence of the select few who, like me, are driven to excel and be the best versions of themselves. At minimum I would expect her to place in the 90th percentile or higher on my personally administered intelligence test, and let me tell you my rubric is very unforgiving.

My last two girlfriends were pretty dumb. It was fine at first, but it didn't take long to become annoying and I started thinking less of them. I couldn't spend my life with someone that I thought was dumb. I need to be able to respect my partner and I just can't respect dumb people.

It's not a war crime the first time.

I already have I think. I'm not very intelligent either tbf but they did drop out of highschool and was homeless for several years. Can't have been good for their mental development. They were also diagnosed with schizophrenia and frequently off their meds. Was very stressful to be around at times IMO. I wasn't able to handle that part about them but for a few months everything else was good. We both found happiness in similar things.

If I actually considered them unintelligent (if they just thought differently than me or had different knowledge areas, I wouldn't) I feel like that would make the relationship unhealthy.
