Has far more staying power than FFVII Rebirth and DD2, the only other big game coming is Metaphor, Nintendo delayed Switch to 2025 so...

Depends on how Black Myth Wukong and Star Wars Outlaws does, and if Elden Ring DLC is eligible. Dragons Dogma 2 is a downgrade from the first game but still seems kinda popular so it'll probably be on the list due to lack of strong contenders this year afaik

Helldivers 2 needs to undo the shit nerfs they've done on the weapons they've touched and buff all the useless ones. and release the Armored Weaponized Truck stratagem that is just sitting in the files for months ready to use, that shit made moving a team across the map fun asf, but only way to use it is having a modder in session

As someone who clocked over 100 hours so far and still plays...

Nominated maybe. Highly doubt they're going to land a win.

The game is fun but it's junk food. To make matters worse, they released gummy worms and are trying to patch it into hot tamales. And they still haven't fully resolved the PSN thing, last I heard.

Then again this stuff is typically decided by critics rather than regular people so who knows.

I swear, the community is overblowing the nerfs it's crazy.

Only nerf that was truly bad was the Eruptor, and maybe the slugger and the crossbow.

The other nerfs were fine.

Meanwhile many other weapons got buffed and buffed again, yet no one cares.

Weapons that got buffed with patch end of april (1.000.300):

  • Adjucator
  • Punisher Plasma
  • Blitzer Shotgun
  • Railgun
  • Heavy Machine Gun
  • Diligence

People complained three months ago how useless the breaker incendiary or dominator was.

Now people on discord are already sure that the nerfhammer will hit it because it's just such a dominating weapon against bugs, and curse the gods for a nerf that isn't even announcent.

I kinda stopped playing it after nearly 30 hours. Enjoyed my time but I'm kinda done with it. Might go back to it at some point but not really in a rush to do so.
Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series!

You mean the ongoing multiplayer game has more staying power than single player games? What a stunning revelation!

And nah it's nowhere near GOTY for me. Rebirth is probably taking that slot for me as of now.

It'll definitely get nominated by some GOTY publications though, might even win a few.

Every major release gets a game of the year win somewhere. But of the major ones, like DICE or the Game Awards? If they had a shot, Sony blew it for them now.
