Is dethawed a word?It would technically mean to freeze it again after thawing it <_<
Ngl I totally forgot about this chickenHas it been marinating this whole time?!
Has it been marinating this whole time?!yes
We've reached complete chicken saturation. The layers/fibers of meat in the breast are literally falling apart.. I never knew chicken could do that
Completely CoveredLike a burial mound.
What is an appropriate amount of seasoning to put on these thingsyes
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/f/f180add9.jpgI legit read that as 1.5 terabytes of butter ( ._.)
The brine looked/smelled kinda sus but ONWARDS WE MUST GO
Smothering this in 1.5 TB of butter before I slap some seasonings on it
I legit read that as 1.5 terabytes of butter ( ._.)Is that not what she meant >_>
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/5/56f0eab7.jpgOKAY OKAY I ADDED MORE
I legit read that as 1.5 terabytes of butter ( ._.)this is also acceptable
No hornyposting HarpieThe chicken wants what it wants
450F oven temp for like 15 minutes I think will workHmmm I dunno, maybe 20-25, I'm just paranoid about chicken
Make sure you don't drop the raw chicken on ur genitalz!! It happens more than u would think....Does this happen to you often?
Make sure you don't drop the raw chicken on ur genitalz!! It happens more than u would think....Wh-what happens if you do that? Would I start laying eggs??
Does this happen to you often?Yea... It's like you're cooking it one minute and all of a sudden BAM! the moist, succulent chicken breast falls in a way that contaminates your peanous and balls.
Wh-what happens if you do that? Would I start laying eggs??
My breakfast would get a whole lot cheaper
What's it taste like, it is white and looks perfectly cooked to me. Might be something weird with you marinating it for so long or whatever seasoning you used. Hell might just be the brand you bought. I always think those chicken breast's in their own little bags like that have an odd flavor.
It tastes weird, and not in a good way
Im still gonna eat it, but I was hoping after all that itd actually taste good >.>
It tastes weird, and not in a good wayprobably because you left it in sus brine and then forgot about it. you know, just that one crucial step.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/e/e941dd30.jpgWhat did you brine it in? That's probably the culprit since you said it smelled weird

What did you brine it in? That's probably the culprit since you said it smelled weirdJust salt! Though I will say, it did brine for over 24 hours and there were some weird floaty bits. I may have overdone it lol
Im sorry, I read the first 10 msgs and had to nope out after boiled chicken.Smh if you kept reading you'd find that it was BAKED not BOILED. I'm not that kinda heathen, not today at least
I had a roommate that used to cook like that, he also once made Kraft mac and cheese by putting the water, noodles, milk, margarine and cheese powder in a pot and then boiling the whole thing.
The roommate who wouldnt even microwave frozen meals and just ate ramen packs raw after sprinkling the seasoning packet on them had better taste.
sorry >_>
love your adventure topics, just spent about a decade working in restaurants over the years, and ahhh
Thats one sad looking chicken lol. Keep trying OP, youll get it. Cooking is easy once you get reps in._.

Hell might just be the brand you bought. I always think those chicken breast's in their own little bags like that have an odd flavor. It just tastes off, it's hard to explain. Tbh it's mostly flavorless, despite all the seasoning. I think it may have been the forgetting it was brining my my fridge for over a day >.>
Try grilling or baking it the way I mentioned in my last post and see how it works out for you. Those are the two ways I make chicken all the time.
probably because you left it in sus brine and then forgot about it. you know, just that one crucial step.:0
anyway good job, it looks like it's cooked the correct way. now you just need to work on seasoning and finding out what combinations work. also, skip the brine next time, you can get great tasting chicken without it.
do thighsLuna you don't understand
Luna you don't understandok you know what fair enough
I bought these from Costco
I got 2 more of these giant packet of chicken breasts
one does not simply buy thighs when I have 8 pounds of chicken in my freezer
Next time buy thighs though, and make sure they have the skin on them and the bone in them. Pat dry with paper towels, trim off any skin / fat that hangs off as it will burn, then put them out in a pan skin side down. Brush with olive oil, the season with whatever you like (kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder minimum), then flip it over and do the same to the other side (if you want you can season under the skin too, but Im usually afraid of messing the skin up).
Bake at 375 on a charcoal grill (around 400 on the dome in my SnS Kamado) until the internal temp hits 180, then sear skin side and bottom for 30 seconds each over a hot fire.
If you dont have a grill, sear in a hot oiled skillet (preferably carbon steel, stainless steel, or cast iron), then cook in the oven at 375 until done.
In either case, it should take about an hour, and youre looking for an internal temperature of 180 to 185. Will beat the hell out of any breast youll ever have.
Never boil meat. Sous vide is good, boiling is terrible.
The big thing with chicken is you do need a LOT more seasoning than you would think. It tends to be a very bland meat unless it is heavily seasoned and a light seasoning actually makes it worse.
