On occasion I get hit with WC3 nostalgia and wonder why 4 still isn't a thing

those Helms Deep custom games were the tits
while driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and I instinctively swerved to miss it, thanks a lot Mario Kart.

This. I have always felt there will never a Warcraft 4 unless they decided to end WoW and replace it with WoW2. They would do a Warcraft 4 in between to set the story up

And that could potentially happen. They announced a 3 expansion saga recently. I kinda have a suspicion that the story of WoW 1 could end in the epilogue of the 3rd upcoming expansion. All we know is it's name The Last Titan. But based on what I know of warcraft lore, that name could be a finale story

yeah I think the trilogy will be the end of WoW. but they seem to still be making money off classic and the remix shit, so I could see them launching WoW2 while still keeping WoW on life support.

they've already done 1000-10000 year skips in lore so...WoW2 could take place whenever.

As much as I would love a new Warcraft, I cannot trust current blizzard to do it right. They couldn't even do the remaster of 3 right.

Man, this just reminds me of playing a really cool custom game of Alien vs. Predator. It had custom skins/textures and everything. The Xenomorph was a Ghoul with a xenomorph skin, the predator was a Demon Hunter model with a custom skin, etc.

I played it a couple of times like 20 years ago, then never found it again. Even on download sites, I can never find the version with the custom skins.

Blizzard isn't the company it was 10 years ago, let alone 20 years ago. WC4 by modern Blizzard would probably be mediocre at best.

SC2: WoL sold like 6 million copies. but it had actual development costs

the horse made more profit , because it's development cost was basically zero and it was sold to a much wider audience.

I don't know much about WoW but it sounds like too much of a clusterfuck to lead into an RTS.

Well I would expect warcraft 4 and WoW2 to be set after a big time skip. Like generations later. Some characters are immortal or can live for a very long time. Ao those could possibly still be around. But like the human king, Anduin would be dead
