It really is amazing how awful Star Wars and Star Trek have gotten

No. Trek is in probably in the best place it's been since DS9. The 1st season of Discovery is rough but after that each season has gotten progressively better. Strange New Worlds is absolutely phenomenal.

New Star Wars is hit or miss. Everything tied to the Clone Wars series is good, Rebels was good, the first season of Mandalorian was great. Andor was awesome. Everything else is meh.

Star Trek is doing way better than Star Wars right now, and I say that as someone who (at least used to) likes Star Wars way more.

Lower decks is great.

Also, about fifteen years ago, the Star Wars that was considered awful is now considered really good so Im betting in another fifteen years people are gonna be like oh man back then Star Wars was so good and now it SUCKS.

I think thats more an evaluation of the prequel trilogy as This wasnt great, but the issues can be dealt with, plus an understanding that we would not have gotten Clone Wars without those films. Those take the sharp edge off, because something really good came out of the prequel trilogy in the end.

The sequel trilogy is not getting the same treatment. All of the Star Wars fiction right now is building off either prequel or main trilogy stuff, while next to nothing is being built off the sequel trilogy.

Trek is in decent shape.

Picard finished strong, Discovery is less terrible in its last 2 seasons, and Lower Decks is legitimately fantastic.

Also, Strange New Worlds delivered one of my favorite episodes of TV ever with Subspace Rhapsody last season.

Trek has been very good, lately. I'm not sure what you're even talking about, there.

Trek has been great, except for the first two seasons of Picard. Those were really disappointing, but S3 was fantastic.

Even the first season of Discovery is a lot better than it generally gets credit for. It wasn't perfect, but it was good, especially the second half of the season. It's only gone up from there, and the current season is shaping up very well.

Lower Decks is amazing. Much, much better than I was expecting out of a comedic Trek series.

Prodigy is good. Some low points and it drags at times, but the highs are really high. The back story of the Vau N'Akat is really compelling. Too bad it got canceled. I'm hoping S2 was able to wrap things up and gets released soon.

SNW is the standout. Can't wait for S3.

As for Star Wars, I haven't paid attention to the franchise since the prequel trilogy completely tanked my interest.

The only good thing to come from Star Wars since the original trilogy is Rebels and Andor

Lower Decks and Picard S3 = Great!
SNW = Good
Discovery S3, S4, and S5 = OK to Good.

I liked Rogue One. I don't know if I should or not, Iunno. I just enjoyed it.
