Nothing pulls you out of a movie quite like a good Wilhelm scream

I don't even know what it sounds like
I love it but I don't want to hear it.
The food here is terrible. My steak was so tough it attacked my coffee and the coffee was too weak to defend itself.

You'd know it if you heard it.
All posters and events depicted in this post are entirely fictitious. Any similarity to actual events or posters, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
Might be a little loud, so if you're on headphone, be aware.

It's the famous scream that shows up in every Star Wars movie.

Hate it. Any sound team that sneaks that shit in should get canned. Its way too recognizable and just takes me out of the experience as it inherently reminds me its just a sound effect.
Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.
I hate almost all stock sound effects, except for that one.
...I think I'm done here...

The Charge at Feather River, which is one of the first films to use it, is basically this.

Every time someone gets hurt or killed it shows up.

Shame you have to sit through a corny as fuck ancient western movie to hear it though.
Balenciaga hoodies and Gucci shoes

Despise it.
I think you're hurting yourself, 'cause you hurt me

Usless knowledge in my head.
It was done by sheb wooley for a effects album in the 50's. Sheb Wooley is known to most as the Scout on Rawhide. He's also known for the novelty song Purple people eater. Now you know

Good for comedy/comedy horror, bad for anything serious.

Dude, that's the perfect place for it.
Every time I hear it I laugh. Most recent was BG3 IIRC.
Look, I can name a few instances in MY life where I tried to reach mutual understanding
and i can TELL you, always faster and easier to just kill em. Just is!
I detest all stock sound effects, especially that one and the vanquished dinosaur one.
S / K / Y / N / E
Takes me out of the moment like most stock sound effects. Use in comedies, not in dramas.
Just started Baldur's Gate 3 last night and almost immediately ended up hearing one, lmao. Classic.
Take me down from the ridge where the summer ends
And watch the city spread out just like a jet's flame
It would be subjective to the use. If it's a serious movie or a big budget action adventure movie then I would hate it. If it was in a comedy or a spoof movie that the tone is not serious then I'd like it because it would fit.
