Maybe I'm missing something but, how was Steve Bannon at Rudy's party? I thought he was in prison

So is the prosecution re-directing with Cohen after the defense rests?

Who could have predicted that Trump would decide not to testify
Shocker of my lifetime, I tell you
Why doesn't the prosecution call Trump?
Why doesn't the prosecution call Trump?
People know they can track topics, right? I never tracked topics until these ones, however I find it way better than just tagging as when you go to your notification and it says "22 new messages in x thread", it takes you to the first of those 22 posts, meaning you don't have to scroll and hunt through the thread to find where you left off.
I've found it super useful.
Just FYI, you don't have to scroll to find where you left off in your AMP. If you click the blue dot on the topic in your AMP it will take you to the top of the newest posts right where you last read.
With that said, I do prefer to have the topic tracked because I like to see how many new posts are in before I even enter.
He lost his appeal, but the federal bureau of prisons has yet to issue a date to report to prison. Peter Navarro is in prison on a similar charge of contempt of congress.Ah okay I got people mixed up. It's Navarro who's in prison. Thanks
The prosecution rests. Apparently the defense doesn't expect to take very long at all before they rest.
Man wtf the prosecution is really going to let the defense's representations of Cohen be the last lingering thoughts for the jury on Cohen? Wasn't expecting that.I don't think the jury will have any lingering thoughts on the defense's cross of Cohen because they all went to sleep during it
Man wtf the prosecution is really going to let the defense's representations of Cohen be the last lingering thoughts for the jury on Cohen? Wasn't expecting that. There was a very long sidebar that stretched all of lunch and even kept the jury out for an extra half-hour where the DA was looking to bring in CSPAN footage that showed Trump was with his bodyguard (Schiller) at the time Cohen called him. You'll recall this is the phone call the defense attacked Cohen on and claimed instead of talking to Trump about Stormy he was really talking to Schiller about a prank caller.

I had to laugh at that. Costello was making the judge angry.

Dude these people have no fucking shame.
Trump's attorney says defense doesn't expect to call any witnesses after Costello
Trump attorney Emil Bove says the defense does not expect to call any witnesses after Robert Costello.
The judge notes that can change.
So they have no refutations to the mountains of evidence presented by the prosecution?
Trump's lawyers are arguing for dismissal again. They really don't seem to want this case to go to the jury.
https://twitter.com/TylerMcBrien/status/1792656618255233530Is this something they have to do to lay groundwork for an appeal? Like if they're going to appeal on these grounds they have to show in the record that they moved for the original case to be dismissed on the same grounds?
Dude these people have no fucking shame.
So they have no refutations to the mountains of evidence presented by the prosecution? In their motion to dismiss they're stating there's no evidence so i guess there's no need!
Would Trump be in court if he had reimbursed Pecker for the $150k he paid to kill the McDougal story out of his own pocket?
He stiffed Pecker for that, which led to Pecker not picking up the tab for the Stormy story, which led to the reason why he's in court now.
It would be poetic justice if Trump becomes a felon over a measly $150k.
The defense calling for a dismissal when the prosecution rests is just standard procedure.
I don't think the jury will have any lingering thoughts on the defense's cross of Cohen because they all went to sleep during it
There was a very long sidebar that stretched all of lunch and even kept the jury out for an extra half-hour where the DA was looking to bring in CSPAN footage that showed Trump was with his bodyguard (Schiller) at the time Cohen called him. You'll recall this is the phone call the defense attacked Cohen on and claimed instead of talking to Trump about Stormy he was really talking to Schiller about a prank caller.
This CSPAN footage showed Trump was with Schiller five minutes before the call was made leaving pretty much no doubt Trump was there to take the call. Obviously it doesn't show anything about what they talked about but it removes an avenue of doubt from "Was Trump even there to take the call?"
After strenuously fighting against it being let in, the defense caved when it became clear that if they didn't agree to it here and now it would still come in - just they'd have to get the C-SPAN witness back in court and the DA had already had arranged a flight for him to be back in NY and ready to go 9:30 AM tomorrow. So the DA was able to present it to the jury and did first thing after they were brought back in after lunch.
So I think they did push back on some of the portrayal of Cohen.
I'd imagine they already have most of it baked into their closing arguments. They know Cohen is a piece of shit and they knew the Defense was going to go after it. You can't really defend the guy against being a piece of shit, so I'm going to guess closing arguments for the prosecution are going to hammer on the paper trail and that anything else about Cohen isn't particularly relevant here.
If Trump had paid Daniels money to not talk about it, and paid out of his own pocket, he'd likely not be in trouble. Probably a campaign finance violation, but that I think is a misdemeanor.
