He never wanted Slayer to disband. It all really came down to Tom Araya's health and his desire to simply be done and spend time with his grandkids. The other guys thought it was premature but understood. Kerry was angry. He see's his heroes still playing and he knows he can still play so he wants to keep going. It isn't surprising that his solo project is basically just solo Slayer.
