Ok. :(
Goku actually is less interesting. He just likes to fight. The point of Supermans story isn't his combat. Its his humanity despite not being human.
Superman is at his best when like, a Volcano is going off and he has to evac an entire village. His powers are great but he's not omnipresent. Just like Hulk is great because he often has to deal with shit that "punch harder" can't solve. Superman, Hulk, etc. They're all interesting because while they're great and powerful, victory for them is almost never a matter of beating up the bad guy. It's about saving lives. If Supes beats the shit out of lex but fails to save the burning orphanage, then Syperman has failed.

The chief failing of Dragon Ball is that it constantly solves its problems by asking the heroes to punch harder.
She / Her
Others don't get to dictate what's normal and what isn't. It's something we decide for ourselves.
Also Superman's powers are whatever the story needs him to be able to do and his weakness is being close to a random rock.
Supes is interesting because there are so few characters like him anymore. Can't think of any other levelheaded boyscout powerhouse MCs off the top of my head. They're all degenerative clones of Naruto that over-emphasize the stupid hothead part, or edgy, or have Dark Pasts, or don't care much about being heroes in the first place

Superman just has to contend with being too good for this world, and that is genuinely interesting. You know, when they don't do some dramatic one-off or otherworlds thing, where Superman becomes evil for an arc.

That's Silver Age Superman, modern Superman has a consistent set of powers and Kryptonite isn't the only thing that can hurt him.

But Superman's Primary Goal in most crisis / emergency is to act as a "Rapid Response" to save lives.

Beating up the enemy is usually a secondary goal.

He's also weak to magic.

I think you missed his sarcasm entirely.

you're thinking of old Superman. Modern Superman is strong but not invincible and not capable of anything. His powers are now definite. We know him to have super strength, able to fly, super speed, strong Kryptonian body, ice breath and super hearing and super sight...oh and X-Ray vision.

I don't know if this is changed or not but he was able to channel all of his solar energy into one huge blast that would wipe him out afterwards. This was around the end of New52 though so I don't know if that's still a thing.

What DOES change is the same that happens with every comic and that's what can hurt him or not. How strong is he? That just depends on who's writing it. If anyone's the most inconsistent, its Batman which is ironic that people want to talk shit on Superman.

I think that Superman died from doing that. Then an older version of him from a different universe moved to the main one and took over
The Idiot's Guide to Kryptonite and Other Kryptonian Weaknesses

There are seven categories of Kryptonian weaknesses:

1. Kryptonite
2. Magic
3. Red solar radiation
4. Exhausted power reserves and overwhelming force
5. Overloaded powers
6. Internal attacks (viruses and other disease, mind control)
7. The Phantom Zone

On the long scale of time, this is subject to change. There's a sort of "prime scenario" of him doing his usual thing and not changing much, either chilling in Metropolis or the Watchtower, but towards the end of any Big Comics Multiverse Reset, he ends up involved in some Godhood arc.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. Damn. Right. That was New52 Superman and then old Superman came in with rebirth and then there was a whole thing that basically ignores old Superman and so...things are sorta back to normal.

Possibly, the last I remember though, he was basically on the back burner with his son taking over which is where it was revealed that his son was bi and they started making him Superman after going off with his grandfather. Not sure what's going on now anymore. Sadly the biggest issue with comics is that its never ending and I love comic books but I can't keep up anymore.
