Just gotta ensure they stay good by ensuring the orange guy loses. If that also ensures the Dems have enough seats as to not able to do the whole "oh, oh, we wanted to do the thing but manchin said noooo" nonsense for another term, so much the better

No matter how well the election goes, there's still going to be a lot of unfucking to do to the system if things are ever going to be allowed to meaningfully improve.

Polls are whatever, but the speed in which Harris closed the gap, or went ahead, in many polls shows you how much people were begging for this race to get younger.
You gotta laugh. That is the one thing at the end of your life you will not wish you did less of.

Project 2025 is bigger than Trump. Trump keeps making noises like even if he loses he'll still win, and on the back of January 6th, that might not be an idle boast. The Supreme Court belongs to wealthy conservatives. And there is still the possibility of Harris losing.

The correct time to feel positive about the direction the world is heading is after it actually changes directions.

To avoid being a total doomer I try to think in terms of both short and long term.

Short term outlook is good and I'm happy with the recent turn in the election.

Long term is still scary and I am worried about efforts by the right to seize power. By now Republicans should have been a fringe party who gets 2% of the national vote and the main divide in this country should be between progressives and center left Democrats.
