nd on the type of game, and type of missable though. If it's just something like "don't die and you'll get this" I'm more likely to try on my first attempt. But if it's something more complex, especially in an RPG or other more complex game, I won't worry as much, especially if it requires a level of understanding of game mechanics that is better left for after having already played through once.
Most of my grievances with the mechanic are when you need to do something super specific in a short piece of the game to unlock a much larger part of the game IE tales of vesperia, but also like Persona 4, SMT IV, that have like 7+ hours of content based on missables
I don't get why devs do it, don't you want people to play the entire thing you worked so hard on???
