Anybody else grow up on base have this experience?

You're friends with a kid for two years. Then one day, they ask to borrow a game turn disappear forever. It turns out they are about to move and borrowed a bunch of stuff right before they left. It feels like this was a regular occurrence on base.

I have issues with letting people borrow my stuff lol.

Sounds like something you only should have fell for once.

I've had the opposite problem where people would lend me things and then I would try to return it before they leave or before I leave and they don't respond or just tell me to keep it. I have like four movies from this girl I met *once* because she recommended them to me.

We rarely lived on post. One year at Bliss while my dad was at the Sergeants Major Academy and one year after getting sent to Stewart before my parents bought a house in Hinesville. They built a house in Fayetteville and we rented a house in Tampa when at McDill.

Yes, kids were very hesitant about lending out anything on base after a certain age.
