Recent events have helped push me to remember to go out and get them. I literally thought about it right before leaving work today, hopped onto my phone, booked an appointment with CVS, then drove over and was finished and on my way home in less than an hour after leaving work. The only strange thing that happened was that after I booked the appointment, the email said that they were giving me the Novavax vaccine, which I'd never heard of before, though when I looked it up, it sounded like it was less likely to make you sick, so I was fine with it. When I got there, however, they said they were giving me the Moderna vaccine, and since I had no preference (and selected that option when booking), I just rolled with it. Hope tomorrow's not too rough; I believe I've only ever gotten Pfizer variants before this, so I don't entirely know what to expect (and that's another small reason I kept putting it off - just general fear/anxiety over going to the doctor/clinic and getting shots).
Anyway, I figured this was the bare minimum I could do to prepare for what could be coming. I should have done it months ago, but either kept forgetting or managed to convince myself not to go whenever I actually did remember (my main excuse being that all of the previous COVID vaccines had made me sick for at least a day, and I didn't want to miss work). Are there any other vaccines that I should be looking into? I wish I could easily find out which ones I got as a child, though I'd want to wager that I got pretty much everything that was standard back in the 90's; I definitely remember going to the doctor for a few when starting school back then, at least.
