genuinely curious. if i was a foreigner no way in hell would i want to visit. not only out of a basic sense of self preservation, but i also wouldnt want any of my money going to what seems to be a nazi state

it honestly feels similar to 1930s Germany

Yes, it's also being stupid because tourists are literally being disappeared by the government
There is no way I'm travelling to the US. I don't consider it a safe place. I barely did anyway, considering the level of gun ownership.

If someone wants to take their kids to Disneyland, I'm not going to call them a Nazi collaborator.

Let in the refugees, deport the racists.
Yes, technically, but also I'm not going to be salty and/or shitty about it.
And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to your span of life?

Maybe if I was white or treated like a white socioeconomically speaking, then maybe. Otherwise no point being on a 20 hour flight costing thousands of dollars just to ultimately be harassed.

But I definitely plan to.

From a financial standpoint, would it be any different than continuing to spend money on things from the USA? Like, the amount of money I have spent on American movies is probably higher than the amount of money I have spent while actually in the USA. I'm currently a patron of a few Patreon accounts, most of which are Americans, so is that being complicit?

Dunno about it being collaborator business, but it's definitely a terrible fucking idea right now.

Unless you absolutely positively have to enter the US, don't .

And even if you do absolutely positively have to, think several times and exhaust alternatives first.

That type of reasoning is nonsense.

That said, travelling to the US is demonstrably unsafe at the moment. So.
Why not go all in?
I wouldnt be allowed, I post on gamefaqs

Nah
I feel like some people take this collaboration stuff too far. Oh, you go to Walmart, Kwik Trip, buy Nestle products... you're complicit! The vast majority have no room to talk, as they give money to evil corporations all the time that support the US or push anti-worker/consumer rhetoric and policies. Unless, they're making their own clothes, only going to farmers markets, etc, but that is a very small number of people

What you do with your money is of no concern to me or the average American. Or anyone outside the tourist industry actually.

But bad things can happen in most places people frequent if youre unlucky enough. So if its not worth the risk to you then just dont do it.

Multiple Canadian and German tourists were abducted by ICE and put into detention camps in the middle of nowhere and kept in solitary confinement and tortured

Eh, it's not unreasonable to not buy Nestle products. Grocery stores are much more understandable to give money to because you have to eat. Reasonable people know that there's no ethical consumption under capitalism. It's only the terminally online who are like "How dare you purchase water instead of purifying your own!".
