Hell yeah. Hexadecimal always creeped me out as a kid. I vaguely remember Bob coming back with an eyepatch , but I think I had stopped watching at that point.
You gonna do somethin' or just stand there and bleed?
Yes actually just started rewatching it on Amazon

Didn't the show get a recent reboot?
Yep. Watched it when it was on Toonami. Really floored me how it started off all silly and goofy in the first two seasons then became a huge war drama during the third.

Yep I grew up watching that show, and I actually rewatch it over a year ago. It sucks how the show ended with it getting cancelled on a cliffhanger.

You meant Enzo? He's the one who loses an eye and gets an eye patch.

It was actually secretly a reboot of the creator's failed 2006 cartoon MP4orce.

It's okay but I usually felt out of the loop while watching it. Beast Wars was more my style.

The vote is 25 yes to 2 no which is a super high percentage considering I have never even heard of it.

After googling it the results surprise me even more considering it is a Canadian based show. I know we have a fair amount of Canadians here and while it would get some coverage in the US I still wouldn't expect many shows to have a 92% viewership rate. You could probably pick a couple of the biggest 90 tvs shows ever like Seinfeld or Friends and still not hit 92% viewership rate in a poll.

Timewise though I'm not surprised I never heard of it though since the bulk of that time from 94 to 99 I was in the Navy and gone a lot so even as an avid tv watcher I have this black hole for about 5 years where I was unaware of a lot of stuff in that time frame.

no kidding, but it continued in a welcoming that was pretty good at least,

That show is great I remember Enzo losing the game for the first time and the ensuing timeskip eventually and just being blown away. That was probably the first major plot twist I saw but Im sure theres others from movies or something:

It was seven years ago, but yeah.

A lot of people got pissy because in the episode that had Bob, Dot, Enzo, etc they depicted a player as a 40-year-old fanboy who lives in his mom's basement:

Yes. I've watched every single episode multiple times. A Canadian classic. I think that the games were better when Enzo was a kid, but the story was better when he was an adult.
watched it for the first time start to finish last year. fucking incredible show

I used to watch it but stopped for some reason and when I came back to it it had an older Enzo with an eye patch and some pink girl.

That pink girl was orange, and her name was AndrAIa (pronounced Andrea). And the reason Enzo was older was because he got locked in a game which artificially aged him.

Yeah, ABC is the entire reason Reboot was dumbed down and child-friendly in the beginning.

I don't know if it's mentioned in this video, but ABC didn't want to show Dot give a kiss to Enzo on his birthday because they considered it incestuous.

Without truth, there is nothing.
I watched season one and then dipped out after it originally aired. Then way later i caught some of the much later episodes on CN and was floored by the improvement in the show. Wound up circling back and watching even the early episodes
I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.
I am a Canadian that never watched it.
One of my favourite shows ever. Loved it as a kid, loved it as a teenager and still love it as an adult.

Animation has aged like shit but the story still holds up quite a bit.

I loved it as a kid. I would wake up early and eat breakfast. Then Reboot or Beast Wars would come on before the bus came. I also remember Mutant League and Mighty Max airing along with it.

They are thinking about Mouse. A side character in the later seasons. She was pink and had orange hair with a static effect. Andrea wasn't orange, just tan.

Mouse was a side character throughout the entire show. Including I believe the first season.

I watched it here and there as a kid and enjoyed it. My memory's fuzzy but I feel like I managed to catch a weekend marathon of seasons 2 and 3 on Cartoon Network at one point. I loved S3, and remember feeling like it was a great ending to the show; I only realized recently that the show went on to make a cliffhanger 4th season. This was still a time when making pop-culture references felt new and exciting, and it was really fun to see the show reference things like The Evil Dead and Star Trek III

I recall the evil dead episode having several explicit references to Doom (or just violent FPS games in general). With the show breaking the fourth wall to point out that kids do in fact play these violent-ass games IRL as a joke.

That is honestly my core memory of the series.

I remember a fun bit of tech-based subversive humor where Matrix angrily exclaims "my ascii!" (instead of "my ass!") in an argument.

Loved that show. I wish it had ended with the first movie, instead of the cliffhanger we got with the second. I hate the tactic of leaving things on a cliffhanger to try and get the network to make more. It so rarely works out.
