Would be so high. $25 minimum bets for craps and blackjack?!

Lost $100 over the weekend. Then at the airport before my flight back, I found a digital craps game with $3 minimum bets. Put a $20 in and won back my $100 just as my plane started boarding.

Depends on time of day, weekday/weekend, and location. Im sure there are still $5 minimum games available but maybe not where you were at that time.

I wanted to head to Fremont or whatever it's called, the place where locals go, since that's supposed to have lower bets. Didn't get a chance to though.

They didn't have any $5 or $10 tables? When I went they had tables catering to low and high stakes betters
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me

Lowest I saw in multiple casinos on the strip was $15 for blackjack, but the time changed and it went up to $25. Or they would be full of people already.

Still flabbergasted that some tables were $100 minimum. WTF kind of money do you have where you do that.

Old Vegas is cheaper

I'd have to guess at least $100.

Not for a long time, cheapest you'll find on the strip is $15. A small handful of off strip places offer $5 tables and you can often find $10 tables downtown.

Fremont is more over the top tacky Vegas with all the lights and crazy shit. It's way more exciting to just stand off to the side somewhere and feel the vibe. The strip is fine, but I preferred before they cleaned it up like a decade ago. Street performers and shit are my jam
I don't believe in belts. There should be no ranking system for toughness.
Flamingo is nice. Excalibur for me. I usually stay there because its cheaper and a good place.
Ngl, dunno why anyone would stay on the Strip proper if they're not staying in a fancy suite at a nice casino these days. Everything is expensive, food sucks for the most part, and shows are hit or miss. The appeal of the strip died like 15 years ago. Fremont is a better experience

Fremont is definitely not better. Theres really nothing to do there except gamble. So if thats your sole purpose for going then maybe, but yea its definitely not a better experience than the actual strip.

can you elaborate on what you like about Fremont exactly? It just seemed older and more rundown to me with really nothing to do except gamble. What is it specifically that you like about Fremont?

As for what you said about the strip, I dont know what food youve had but if its awful, youve been going to the wrong places. I agree that food is expensive. I would call it overpriced for what you get.

as far as hotel rooms go, there are so many hotel rooms to choose from and places to stay that you can usually find a room for cheap on the strip that is pretty decent. If you think all hotels on the strip are expensive, again, you are staying at the wrong places.

but Id love to hear more on your perspective, what exactly makes Fremont so great, how do you spend your time there?

Agreed. Fremont is something you do for a day or evening, but I wouldn't want to stay there the whole time. Staying on the strip is awesome, nothing like going down from your room and being smacked in the face with glitz and glamour all around. Well maybe not at Excalibur or Luxor, but there's still just so much more to do, see, and eat.

Best part was probably a day pool party at the Wynn/Encore that someone got us into for free. Plus a wrist band for unlimited drinks (for only 2 hours) for $30 each. A single mixed drink costs $23 otherwise

might have been in the wrong casino section?

I only live in MA, but I've been to foxwoods and they have whole sections with different minimum bets

I live in Vegas so maybe I'm biased but there's way more things to do on Fremont than the Strip. Better food and bars especially if you include the arts district. Better nightlife if you're not a club person. Better vibes, though the vibes at both are atrocious compared to real cities.

Unless you're here for shows, and there's really only a handful of good ones, the Strip sucks. You can count on two hands the restaurants worth going to down there and thats being generous. If you travel a mile or two off strip there's significantly better restaurants at a better price point. Strip is just one long tourist trap.

Maybe don't gamble at the Bellagio?

Yeah when I want to gamble tables in Vegas I ride share to South Point or Ellis Island. SP is my favorite! $5/$10 table minimums depending on time of day, cheap poker cash and tournament, and a massive selection of slots including a new game section. Also plenty of cheap eats, the buffet is awesome for one of the cheaper ones in town. If you're into bowling they have professional lanes and sometimes PBA events are held there.
