As impressive as animals generally are let's not take for granted what we humans did.
Our brains evolved to be able to store information and then pass that information down to our offspring, saving them from having to learn from scratch.
Might sound lame and tame but it's one of the fundamental things that allowed humans, despite being weak sacks of flesh with seemingly no impressive physical abilities (not entirely true, we
can
train to do some mightily impressive physical things as well), to go on to dominate the planet in a way no other species has nor likely ever will (either because there's not enough time for evolution to produce another "apex" animal like homosapians before our atmosphere expires or because we simply never relinquish the throne).
As a default humans are basically the RPG archetype who joins the party weak as hell but is a blank slate that can become the most OP unit in the game by miles if you raise them properly.
It's hard to point to another animal as well-designed as humans are from an evolutionary standpoint, it's pretty much just cockroaches, crocodiles, and sharks. Maybe throw ants in there as well.
