Final Fantasy Tactics. I genuinely wish I could enjoy it like every one else. I love SRPGs so I really dont know why it doesnt click with me. Every time Ive tried to play it I get bored a few hours in and just drop it. I concur that the OST is fucking incredible though

Elden Ring, or really any Souls game.

That used to be me until I played PS5 Demons Souls. Then I just had the ah ha moment and fell in love with the genre. Ive played all of them now save for Sekiro which I plan to get to eventually

Atelier Yumia

Gameplay is too streamlined and it lacks the cutesy fun of the older games
Yeah, same on FFT. I love turn-based, but I just can't do turn-based strategy.

Also Baldur's Gate 3. I had to force myself to beat it, and I love everything else about, but it was a grueling experience because of the combat.
...I think I'm done here...
Death Stranding.

the idea of Kojima being as unrestrained as possible sounded like it would lead to something amazing, but instead, DS turned out to be one of
the worst games I've ever played.

despite that, I still want to root for him because of how much passion he seems to have.
Don't you agree, Zach?

Earth Defense Force 6. Preordered it, got real excited to play it when it was coming out, and then the day it was supposed to come out, this tiny little yellow block shows up on the steam page says: "Requires 3rd-Party Account: Epic Online Services (required for online play)"

Man, that killed my enthusiasm faster than you could spit. Day of release, and you want to pull that shit? I don't want that epic garbage on my pc, thanks.
Shut your BF28/9 sound hole and listen up.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? Strike three.
The hyper realistic flight sims or wargames.

I don't have the required number of brain cells to actually figure them out.
Sekiro or any fighting game...

I'm just bad at both...

it's way too slow, I hate the graphics, and the entire thing is stupid and generic

Sekiro.
Baldur's Gate 3. There are a lot of aspects I really like, and I've tried to get into it multiple times, but ability checks in conversation absolutely kills my interest. I don't know if I'm just extraordinarily unlucky, or if I'm supposed to accept that I fail the majority of them and am thus locked out of quests, outcomes, rewards, etc., until the next playthrough when I get to try again, because the alternative is excessive save scumming, which is tedious and unfun and kind of renders the whole experience meaningless.
Thus I became a madman.
probably Guild Wars 2
It's good, but a far cry from GW1 and isn't as ambitious as it presented itself.

Monster Hunter 3.

I've tried it twice, but it's just... so..... damn....... slow.

I think it ultimately boils down to the speed for me. The game is just so fucking slow, and its even worse if you play the psp remake. I get that it was groundbreaking for its time, but I feel like way better games in the genre have come out since.

Sekiro. Musica great, atmospheres great, love the level designs, but I absolutely hate that the entire game revolves around parrying.

All the GTA games honestly. I have played them all (and will get 6 too), but the only one I ever finished was III. And I even thought that was meh. I just find the games kind of shallow and boring.

I dont know why. I adore all the Red Dead games. Something about GTA just doesnt click with me. I recognize the quality, but I dont enjoy them.

Please dont revoke my gamer card!
An opinion does not turn into a fact simply because the person holding it feels strongly about it.
Cyberpunk. Got a new TV in my living room because I needed one, but I could have put off buying it and especially wanted to try CyPunk on it so I got it set up a little before the game came out. Also bought a new wireless controller, dragged my rig to my living room, and I had some vacation time so I took an extended weekend to try it out. Took me 3 sits to get to 4 hours and I just couldn't find the urge to keep playing.

The issue was I was expecting more Mass Effect and less GTA. The latter is rarely my type of game. I media blackout big games like that so everything is new to me. I also picked the corporate origin story and was expecting to see more of that world from the start but it felt like the game took major effort to ignore my origin and just throw me on the streets asap.

I am not sure, there are certain games I am happy people like but I absolutely don't want to try and get into them (generally Souls games). Maybe Stardew Valley for me, I still loved what I played of it way back then, but I just can't get into it anymore now. I often try and start a new game and I just meh out.
Today's the same as ever.
Monster Hunter games.

I love running quests over and over and over again for loot drops. I like the art style and the world. I like many things about it but ultimately I simply don't like the way it plays and I have tried multiple games and weapons and it just never clicked with me.

Had it played like White Knight Chronicles or something I would probably be in love with the series and barely play anything else. But I just don't like it. It honestly bums me out because there is so much to like.

Metal Gear Solid 5 dulled my love for the series
The Legend is True!
the Diablo series (2-4; haven't played the first).

I don't think they're bad, but they also feel pretty mindless after a while.

not to say that that's necessarily a bad thing, bye it doesn't really appeal to me.

Resident Evil series.

As a kid I watched my brother play 1 and 2, and I've tried to play them as an adult but I just can't... I get too much anxiety about whether I need to run or fight and I end up dying early on. Same with 4.

Same with the Dead Rising series. Took several tries to really get into the original and when I did I couldn't put it down. But when I started 2 I was paralyzed by decision anxiety and the stupid time limit which everyone says is actually more generous than 1

Mirror's Edge.

I like the world, I like the design, I like the gameplay.

I don't like the first-person parkour giving me motion sickness and a migraine at the same time.

I don't get the hate for 5 :( Great gameplay, some interesting ideas, wonderful soundtrack. Maybe not as powerful or as tight an experience as the previous games but not bad

Tales of hearts r. Its always been talked about as a tales of game with one of the best battle systems and with good AI behavior control options too.

I can see it, but this game just got one the most half-assed tales of localization efforts from bandai-namco. Skipping out on a dub was already bad enough, and the subtitles we did get so much shit is left untranslated (most in-battle releated) or just flat out wrong. The name changes (kor meteor) is also baffling considering these same exact characters had their proper names with cameo appearances in other localized tales of games. (In tales of graces f's card game for example).

Really wanted to like this game but I don't know what the fuck they were on when it was brought over.

Things like the stories, worldbuilding, characters are all really interesting, but the gameplay itself is not very enjoyable for me

You, my friend, are dead to me! LOL. Kidding. I love the Diablo games. That's about all I play. I admit I have not played 1 either. And yes, they are mindless for the most part. But that's kinda what I want in my games. To unplug from rl, so to speak

Im guessing you mean Path of Exile, because Pillars of Eternity also a series.

Although, PoE is nowhere as bad as AC.
If you're gonna hate on a game, make sure you played a good chuck of it first.

It seems like it, but I will be the first to admit I am not an expert on BG3 mechanics and could be missing something, but there are definitely conversations, especially during story progression, one-off events, conversations where a failed rolls leads to combat, conversations during combat where combat might either end or continue depending on the outcome, etc., that don't seem like there'd even be an opportunity for a second attempt without reloading, and I'm like 85% sure I locked myself out of certains quests and rewards via failed rolls while talking to NPCs.
Thus I became a madman.
Infinite Space on the DS. I've tried like 8 attempts and never got more than 5 hours in. It feels like a game i should love, I love the whole idea of the game, but I still haven't managed to get into it. Maybe one day.

Sekiro. Was very excited, and it just ended up being parry: the game
I pray god will curse the writer, as the writer has cursed the world with this beautiful, stupendous creation, terrible in its simplicity, irresistible in truth
I'm actually off and on with Sekiro right now, and it's...okay, I guess? I love all other Souls game, but the fact that's it's closer to a straight action game isn't grabbing me. There's not as much stats, equipment, or builds as the others. It's likely my least favorite one.
