I'd be a lot more interested in the series if you could only catch new Pokemon in each game, like what B/W did.

It is one of those things that was just always off my radar because it didn't even become a thing until I was in my 20's and I was unaware of it until many years later because despite my love of RPGs weren't the majority of all the games on handheld devices? I was never a handheld game and avoid them entirely until I bought a Switch because I could play it docked all the time.

By the time that happened I just felt completely ignorant about the franchise. I seriously know next to nothing. I only know the name Pikachu. That is it. Can't name a single other thing about it. And it just felt like I had been so out of the loop for so long there was no use even trying to get into it, plus everyone whined about how the modern games were shit compared to what they used to be so I never bothered to really learn about it.

Red, Yellow and I think Pearl.

I am weird in that I love the idea of Pokemon and it was awesome as a kid, but as an adult I dont have the patience to play through the same story and same mechanics a dozen times.

Pokmon is far and away my most played franchise. Hell, it's my most consumed singular media franchise by volume of hours.

Beaten them all up until the Hawaii one on the 3ds. Haven't played any of them since the Hawaii one as well.

I may get the "new" one coming out for the Switch 2, but idk. Depends what my brother and or buddy of mine does as like battling others. .....or at least I did when I used to play.
