I remember this. The reveal that Festus was the way he was because
Jesse was keeping him under heavy sedatives or something like that the whole time
was dark, but Punk setting him free from that led to him returning to his old self as Luke Gallows... and yet this version of Punk was supposed to be a
heel
for some reason? Looking back on it, it was so stupid. The only reasons the act got over as a heel at all was because Punk was so good at it and because he was feuding with Jeff Hardy, a babyface that could get just about anyone in wrestling booed.
