Missed this post and can reply to it too. Galactus want baby Franklin cuz Franklin is a cosmic entity who could absorb Galactus endless hunger. Galactus wanna break free from the cycle hes stuck in and instead put Franklin on the throne.

I'm going to be watching it tonight with friends.
DI MOLTO!
Good movie. Easily the best Fantastic Four film made, with the 2005 one being next.
Cheese
I was right, they made Galactus a dumb, petty bitch looking to pawn off his duty with such a low, pathetic showing. Hes not the ultimately noble force with a grand purpose for the universe. Hes a dude that can be stranded at the edge of the universe to be done away with.

I KNEW theyd do this.

I just saw it.
not bad at all, something felt off. Maybe the music giving a weird tone

Im kinda not liking the ending, I was expecting a big lead into secret wars/doomsday like heavy build up for it, but no,

i liked it a lot, but it wasnt amazing or a top marvel movie,

to me it felt like a rushed sequel. Like the first was great and really successful, so this was rushed into production and was a good sequel but not quite as good as the original, but there is no original
John Malkovich was completely cut. I feel cheated.
It was good! Really enjoyed it. 8/10

It's not thunderbolts good but a solid streak.

I've enjoyed all of daredevil, thunderbolts, ironheart and f4. So a good streak for me

The final battle was meh and Galactus went out like a chump
So do they just beat Galactus? I would hate if they did him away so quickly. Galactus could be an Avengers threat, not only just an intro movie throwaway boss.

No. Most the movie is planning to fight him and what to do. He is built up as bigger than an Avengers threat.
but it is weird the way the script writers did the end fight.

With the way he is able to be hurt, I think there's enough characters on main earth that could take this galactus
So is he gone, or is there any hint he will be back? We have been waiting forever to see a proper Galactus. Id be upset if he is just thrown out after one intro movie.

No not gone. Just teleported away
This is easily the best year for marvel in a while

If wonderman delivers, we eating good and I have faith in it

Shakman has been killing it

If I had to rank them: thunderbolts>>f4=>superman
I thought it was great, probably the best F4 movie we're ever going to get. All the characters got good showings, tho I think Ben got the least to do. At least he wasn't dumb muscle this time.

I'd probably give it a 8/10.

I agree with this. I changed my mind, the presentation bumped it to a 9 for me
I thought it was really dour and joyless for a Fantastic 4 movie. I actually miss the big, broad personalities from the 2005 movie.

Take The Thing. I felt like he barely had a character in this, other than being kinda nice. I actually liked his character arc in the 2005 movie, of learning to accept his appearance, and reining in his anger.

The person I was with legit fell asleep for a big chunk of the middle. True story.

The pacing was really good. It was enjoyable from beginning to end. The action and cgi was great. The space scene was incredible with the neutron star.

But so many questions with the post credit scene. What does Doom want? And I wonder how they're going to show their ship coming into Earth 616 from the end of Thunderbolts. I was expecting to see it in this movie, but I guess not. Hmmmm.

Nah, I disagree. I gave it a 9 but I may change my answer to a high 8. The more I think about it, the more the third act didn't vibe with me. Like they treated Galactus like a moron and it still somehow worked. And he was defeated a bit too easily. Also neither he nor Surfer used the Power Cosmic.

I have to trust Galactus will be back. Would be a shame if he ended up just being a throwaway villain in the end.

I have a confession to make.

At the end of The Incredibles, when the throwaway villain at the end Underminer shows up, I had no idea that was apparently another reference to Fantastic Four until I saw this movie. When I saw Moleman I was like, "Holy shit, Underminer was a reference too??"

Thats all from Franklyns powers. He can literally create universes along with more

Wow. Galactus was a pushover. (literally)
Sue died pushing him tho if that's anything.

She did, but youre also talking about a woman with powers only for 4 years against an almost god like being alive for billions of years destroying millions of planets and never once being stopped.
yet she could hold, restrain and push him back blocks on her own while hes fighting to stop it.
It was good but Superman was way better. I also enjoyed thunderbolts more I think. Idk, have to think on it some more. The third act was kinda too lame and it felt too short of a movie and Im annoyed that the end doesnt tie into the end of thunderbolts
She took pity on me, horizontally, but most likely because of my band
Movie was fine. Like I don't think there was any part I disliked, but it felt like it was missing another act or something.
I thought it was one of best marvel movies ever (I'm not a f4 fan either). My friends were more lukewarm

My gf and her friend were also lower on it. I give it a 9.

All 4 people I know that watches it prefer thunderbolts. I hope thunderbolts gets the viewership it deserves on streaming
Great movie, 9/10

I liked the different earth vibe. It was like a what a person from the 1950s thinks earth will look like in the year 2010. The earth had some classy stuff but it was also high tech.

I felt like this movie flew by even though there really wasn't a lot of action.

My wife keeps calling it "Blandtastic Bore" and I kinda have to agree lol the action scenes were pretty lacking and the last scene before the credits was the only bit that got a laugh out of my packed theatre. 6/10 imo, just kinda middling. Glad people enjoyed it though.

Silver Surfer was disappointing. She completely disappears from the narrative for a long stretch, until coming back at the last minute for the final attack on Galactus, and does a heroic sacrifice, about which the Fantastic 4 don't seem to give much a shit about.

I'm not that familiar with Galactus, but I played the Marvel Lego games and he didn't seem that powerful lol The Avengers can stun him with hits to the head.

Watched it yesterday and actually kind of liked it. I should preface that by saying that I went in with low expectations.

The bad is simply that its silly in parts, but also, you know, superhero film, so to be expected to some extent. Also, Fantastic 4 branding has always been a little bit more sickly sweet and wholesome than other Marvel properties, and it certainly does that.

However, its completely separate (at least for now) from the rest of the MCU, which is a good thing. The world has its own aesthetic which helps it to feel less like youre watching the same MCU film for the thirtieth or so time. It also doesnt do the somewhat overplayed were a dysfunctional team that will come together in the end dynamic and instead has the team functioning on both a practical and emotional level from the start, which is refreshing. They dont feel the need to have every member of the team doing something in every action sequence (which there arent actually too many of) just to make them seem relevant. And it doesnt do the classic Fantastic 4 thing of making Sue Storm the weak one just because shes a woman even though shes clearly overpowered as fuck.

Its not the best film ever or anything, and I dont think its going to course correct the MCU (especially because theyre going to merge it all for the next film anyway) but its okay and has things going for it and I totally expected it to be shit.

Id say apart from Guardians 3 and Far From Home, its the best post-endgame content theyve put out.
F4 bring their universe is good. That said Galactus/surfer is done and Doom is avengers. After that they don't have much in their own verse

Sue is insanely powerful, the thing is you usually don't see it unless you fuck with Franklin or anybody else in the family (as we see in the movie).

I'm fine with it. It's not like she killed him.
I have nothing else to say
Invisible Woman is canonically the most powerful member of the F4.

Enjoyed this movie.
Power Cosmic being a keyword & written was a nice touch.

Spoilers about movie and my comicbook knowledge.

i was a silver surfer collector. I luvd the infinity war series and everything connected to it. his actions in that series made a fan out of me. As for the fantastic four, my read through the comics for them was pretty much mirrored in this movie. So for that alone i appreciated the pace and all to portray them as the heroes i grew to know.

the mutliverse lingo flowed as well. Like it kinda made sense the way reed was discovering it. Felt like we as the audience had reeds understanding in that regard. One thing about mcu is how well its multiverse concept was adapted. Every movie & show explained it when it could & we as an audience learn a smidgen more as the mcu grows show after show.

Its Avengers after this one right? I feel fantasic four sequel would be nice but i think its gonna follow the recent mcu box office performances.
You don't stop playing because you grow old,
You grow old because you stop playing
I thought it was pretty good and I enjoyed it being its own thing. I saw thunderbolts and that was good also but im just so far behind on the MCU stuff I didnt know a bunch of those characters.
Trying is the first step towards failure, so just dont give it a shot and you cant dissapoint.

My girlfriend watched without knowing of anyone minus winter soldier. She has it as one of her favorite, if not overall favorite marvel movies. They are explained well enough, so don't let that stop you.

Honestly all you need to know is this:

Valentina (a shady nick fury) has been contacting shady people. There's John Walker, a super soldier that's too flawed to be Captain America despite getting a chance to be. Ghost who can phase through walls. Taskmaster who wears a mask, face is disfigured and can fight good. Red guardian is the Russian Captain America who is a super soldier and adopted dad of Yelena. Yelena is a black widow

Done, now go watch it
I thought it was just okay. It just seemed like another meh marvel movie that had some weird parts like Ben with that teacher. Maybe seeing it so close after I saw Superman too made it more disappointing. It seems like most marvel movies now are just set ups for the post credits.
I used to be a blackjack dealer on a riverboat named Black Sally's Apple. It was a very low point in my life
Honestly one of my favorite MCU movies. Thought it was really well done.

I was surprised they didnt show how the Fantastic Four will connect with the main universe, so Im interested how they do that in future projects.
Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly, the ill deeds, along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest.. is silence.
Now that I had some time to mull over it, they're probably just going to explain how they ended up in the main universe in Doomsday itself. Either that or they'll do it in Spider-Man Brand New day. Probably the former.
