RIP to one of America's best satirists.

His most famous song is The Elements (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcS3NOQnsQM) but I will always love him for Werner von Braun (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjDEsGZLbio) and Poisoning Pigeons in the Park (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNA9rQcMq00&list=RDQNA9rQcMq00&start_radio=1). Other favorites include Vatican Rag and We will all go together when we go.

Probably Lehrer's most famous (and correct) remark outside his songs was when he said that political satire become obsolete when Henry Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. But I think he'd prefer to be remembered for this quote: "If, after hearing my songs, just one human being is inspired to say something nasty to a friend, or perhaps to strike a loved one, it will all have been worth the while."

Whats weird is that I heard the Poisoning Pigeons song about 25 years ago and on Tuesday I suddenly had an urge to look it up on YouTube. Seeing the comments was a surprise.
