Like my grandfather. Peacefully in his sleep. Unlike the passengers in his car. Serious talk though, I would rather pass away in my sleep at the age of 78ish. I think that's a good age to go out at. I wouldn't be too weak to old age, and I'd have a chance to see my nephews grow older. Would love to have kids of my own, but at least this point that doesn't seem like its going to be an option with the way my love life and work life is going.

Your head lives on for a few moments after decapitation. I dunno if youd be feeling pain/panic (you probably would) but youd definitely know you just lost your head and youd be aware for a few moments before passing

Nah, in all honesty I'd like to know it was coming. Be that a terminal illness or something. So I could have a rough idea of how much time I had left and could make my arrangements. I realize the quality of my life wouldn't be the best but I'd still prefer that.

On one hand peacefully in my sleep but I kind of dislike the idea of just not being aware that I passed. Like one night its just all over. In a weird way Id rather be fully aware of it and make the decision like we do for our beloved pets and someday at like 80 some years old where it gets to the point I cant live on my own and take care of myself and my body is just trashed I go in and a Dr can just end it like a vet does. But I would be fully aware that I had like 87 full years and I could reminisce about my life that last day and really soak it in, have a nice meal, say goodbye to people, then be done.

Going down guns blazing. Something like the ending to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid , but instead taking on evil fascists in the middle of a Civil War. Fighting the good fight, and fighting for freedom and human rights seems like a good enough way to go out. As long as it's a quick death, preferably one that I don't see coming.

I live in DC, and if the city ever gets nuked I would rather be at ground zero.

My preferred way to die though would be to push a button that provides a swift and painless death when I decide that I've lived long enough, hopefully before dementia sets in.
