Thanks for reading!
$242.99 a month seems pretty pricey, doesn't it?

Looks like a misread of the URL. They encoded some symbol (perhaps $) as %24, and it's immediately before the 2.99.

I'll stick to Tubi and Pluto and continue to mooch off my mom's Prime account.

Jumping into the streaming game now, after watching WB, Disney, Paramount and Universal all spends billions of dollars just kinda floundering is a wild decision.

Like what does Roku think they have that those massive media companies don't?

Do you really think only one of them is doing this?

Roku already has their own streaming service, it's called The Roku Channel. It's free like Tubi or Pluto TV.

I guess they feel the need to make another one that cost money.
Like it or leave it. Hey, where are you going?
oh fuck off dude!! smh

well it does have ads, so Im guessing the 2.99 a month will be with no ads.

they dont really provide anything special though. Havent checked it out in a while though

Instead of more on-demand stuff, I'd rather a service act like a package deal with the bonus of playing shows sequentially in a linear fashion based on different "channels".

We'll call it "television", it'll make 10s of dollars.

No but seriously, I'd watch way more streaming if I could just veg out and didn't have to think about what to watch.

Rokus actually seems decent

the the whole point of it appears to be to remain cheap and ad-free, and for $3/month it has some pretty solid content

Disney owns 20th Century Fox, which is unrelated to Fox News. And because they already had sports through ESPN, they had to get rid of Fox Sports.

Roku actually gets some good classic stuff on it. For example, they have both the original Transformers and GI Joe cartoons in HD (the Hasbro YouTube channel has them as well in HD but both have ugly watermarks that take up the entire bottom corner of the screen and never turn off). I don't know if I'd pay for it though just to remove ads.

I own a LG TV that has pluto, xumo and their own channels. I watch excatly 3 channels. Majordomo (Dave chang's channel) Motortrend and tastemade. I pay nothing except internet. Its enough that after 3y I'm still seeing new stuff. Why pay for a streaming service.

I think the main reason to get this would be if someone wants access to fox TV channels but doesn't want to spend almost 100 dollars a month on stuff like YouTube tv or fubo. I think the main draw is the sports and news channels. At a cheap price (compared to other live TV streaming options)

Cable is trash, if I went back to spectrum and got even their plan that's little over $100 a month, im not getting all that many channels.

Hulu live tv is the way to go, almost 100 channels for like $84 a month. Plus I get access to Disney+ and ESPN+ for no extra cost.
