A lot of dogs like going on walks, and won't go until like 10+ minutes into the walk. It's annoying for the owners too. It would be easier if they just went immediately when stepping outside.

Get like a spray bottle of this shit, some grocery stores carry it. It's da bomb for getting rid of the smell of dog piss.

Sucks that you have to clean it yourself, but this should mostly solve your problem. Use enough of that and dogs should stop marking unless it's too late and the piss has totally soaked in some wood or something.

But to answer your question I have zero control over when the dog decides that it has found and good time and place to shit.

And like their wolf ancestors they will mark their territory with a little piss every few houses along our walk. Their bladder control is actually impressive.

Not picking up poop is a great way to give your dog or other dogs worms which leads to diseases.

At least don't be like the British who bag their dog's poop then tie it to the branches of the same sad poop branch tree as every other dog owner in the neighborhood.

That sucks. Check your local ordinances. I just did a quick search and if there's an ordinance against this kind of thing, you can call animal control. Don't worry, they aren't just gonna take them away for that, they'll probably just get a warning the first time.
