The online of GTA is ruined by modders who make you explode randomly and crash your game with spam messages. One of the reasons why I don't play GTA Online on PC...
If the rumor about them doing it for GTA6 is true I support that decision.
The online of the last game was completely overrun and ruined by loud ass little kids with scratchy mics
With everyone being over 18,(for the most part, obviously some will find ways around it) perhaps the online map will be a decent place to hang out in again.
Like you could actually play without muting everyone by default
The only "good" that it could potentially sort out is anonymity online and maybe (likely not) create accountability for people to bot act like assholes online.
This will not happen.
"I like government overreach as long as it's against things I don't like."Nailed it.
Am I not allowed one exception to the rule, or will this place just forever be an echo chamber?
Good God, this is why most people left this site. No room for any nuanced conversation whatsoever. Its either a circle jerk around the TC or a circle jerk on them.

Am I not allowed one exception to the rule, or will this place just forever be an echo chamber?Okay, how about this conversation? GTA is rated M, which means minors can't legally purchase it. So that means adults are buying the game for those minors and allowing them to play it. Would it stand to reason that adults can still do that with ID verification? Verify their ID, then let their kid play the game? So how much impact would ID verification really have on you not having to hear minors on GTA Online?

A chill modder dropped me money when I was inside my submarine once and I went and purchased all the highest end properties plus vehicles two years ago.so they dont instaban/"move you to a cheater server" people for duped money now? because when i played it back when it got its pc port they sure did.
so they dont instaban/"move you to a cheater server" people for duped money now? because when i played it back when it got its pc port they sure did. That lasted for like six months
AND modders that would instantly kill you and crash your game when you tried to submit a report against them. There's something mildly ironic about that happening in specifically GTA.
An alternative is, as soon as a kid is heard on the mic in a public lobby be it GTA or CoD, they're immediately kicked out of the game and banned from playing online. Kinda like a console ban but only for any M rated game.sounds great until it's just a 28 year old woman with a high pitched voice
sounds great until it's just a 28 year old woman with a high pitched voiceSomething obviously needs to change. Kids shouldn't even be on the damn mic in a M rated game let alone playing it if its online.
Am I not allowed one exception to the rule, or will this place just forever be an echo chamber?"Oh no, everyone else is in an echo chamber where they only agree with each other and don't allow any nuance!"

Alternate theory: You said something stupid and everyone else rightfully called you out on it.
If one guy calls you [a horse]...
OP is kinda right, there should be some sort of verification needed to play the online portion of GTA VI. kids shouldn't be playing in public lobbies or even have their mic on.
Same needs to be done somehow for CoD or any online M rated game. It's not unusual to hear one or more kids spouting racist shit or saying some really fucked up things while playing Black Ops 6. I know adults do it too but it doesn't mean kids should be playing M rated games online.
Yes, parents need to monitor what their kid does and limit screen time but you know most parents today aren't doing it and aren't being a parent but their kids friend and letting the brats do whatever they want.
Parents aren't going to sit in the same room as their kid for hours while they play a game they shouldn't even be playing and monitor anything they do.

You're a catty one aren't you lol. I was obviously being silly and using hyperbole with the echo chamber thing, don't be so defensive.Low effort trolls are such a bore, though. Admitting that you framed the topic for rage bait purposes, throwing a tantrum about echo chambers and dogpiling, and then trying to pivot to a nonchalant Bros I was just kidding haha but also I do think this would be good is just D tier trolling.
Maybe I see that this ID thing is inevitable and I'm just saying that one of the aspects of it (potentially getting less kids on GTAO) would be a bright spot, and something I wouldn't be totally against.
Or am I not allowed to find solace or peace in anything you guys don't fully approve of?
Don't make it personal or assume you know anything about me.

They don't need to be helicopter parents to keep their kids off of M-rated games. Those kids are on there because their parents allow it, plain and simple. An adult has to purchase those games for them. We shouldn't have to suffer to make up for those parents not caring what their kids do.
