Tariffs and general corporate greed aside, SSDs are expensive and if retail prices are anything to go by they rather annoyingly aren't getting any cheaper. The manufacturers are known to intentionally slow down production and limit supply to raise or maintain prices. They practically jump for joy when their warehouses flood every so often. I can't imagine they're getting cheaper for Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo either, which for sure played a part in this.
