Gonna need a fast charger at home, finally

Now that they're having us go back to the office 3 days per week, slow charging is no longer enough for me. It has been a great 5.5 years without it, but I knew this purchase was gonna have to be made eventually.

I think so, but I've got an electrician coming out on Monday to check

Sheesh $11,000 to install the charger because of the way my house is oriented I might just look into getting a 240V outlet installed instead.

Ive apparently got 200amps to the main service panel, but an 80amp sub feed into the panel inside the garage that controls everything in the house. Cant fit 60amps in the inside panel, so theyd have to connect it to the main service panel outside. The main service panel is on the opposite outside wall than the garage, so theyd have to have a long copper wire running up through the attic, then down into the garage on the other side of the house.

No. At least, not at the building where my desk is.

Just doesnt make sense to pay $11,000 when Im not 100% sure this return to office thing will be permanent. So far, its not accomplishing what the guy in leadership wanted, which is what we knew would happen. Then Id have a much higher electric bill on top of everything else, so I think the 240V outlet will be the best way forward, assuming I can put another 240V outlet on my service panel on the inside.

If not, Ill probably just supercharge for free as needed even if it takes more time away from being home.

Definitely get multiple quotes, I had quotes done and they varied wildly.
