Borderlands 4 is fun but boy howdy is it a fucking mess.

I'm managing 60fps with a 2080ti and low graphics settings. Fine, I can deal with that. Not the worst looking game even at 1280p and I'm having fun playing it.

But every time I alt-tab out of the game, the game window migrates to my second monitor, and I have to manually switch to windowed and drag it back to my primary monitor. And it also happens when I load in a new map. This has never happened with any other game I've owned.

If you want to buy the game, save your money for when this expensive beta test is over. Let those of us who bought it now suffer through it while Gearbox gets their shit together.

I'm on a 4090 and getting 60-70fps on 4k and that isn't even maxed out. I'm having fun but it's got no business being that technically demanding.

lot of reports saying it's a mess on PC. sounds like playing on any console is a better experience. but should get patched in the next few weeks.

is the story and characters as bad as i hear? from what i seen gameplay is fun when it works right. characters and story sucks and got rid of all the humor and it's a buggy mess. also hear side quests mostly suck but to be fair most of them in the other games did as well. sure some were fun but a lot of them were just kinda there.

I have no issue with the story or dialogue so far. I have no clue what my progress is in the story but i just beat a major boss and so far things are fine. They took out most of the cringe humor that 3 had but still left in the occasional joke or reference. There's no comparison to Handsome Jack in terms of the villain but the story's compelling enough to make me want to keep playing.

It is a lot grittier and they cranked up the innuendo and vulgarity compared to 3. The characters I've met are fine.

Playing it on PS5 Pro and haven't had any issues yet... Runs great and I've been having a blast with it so far...

I'm glad your experience is smooth.

My group is legitimately having fun on the game so far. (2 of us is on PS5 pros and my older bro is still on his base PS5).

Like I heard there was a possible memory leak issue on the playstation side, but neither of us have personally experienced it yet. The first gaming session was like 7 hours, and we played earlier today for about another 6 hours. Its been a smooth experience that entire time.

*I am playing on a good gaming TV though, so it is possible VRR (which actually works for this game) is helping to hide possible blatant noticeable framerate drops.*

The most negative thing for me is that we can't change the FOV, and I think there is no toggle for motion blur on or off right now.
