This is maybe the third or fourth time I've experienced it in my entire life. The last time was maybe 15 years ago.

I had a nightmare that I was asleep and recieved a message on my phone telling me to open my front door of my apartment. I did and there was no one there. I closed it and started hearing a woman's voice, very subtle. Its giggling silently.

I get back into bed and then i actually wake up for real. Only this time I can't move. I see a figure on top of me, she's pressed me onto the bed and I can barely breathe. She starts whispering numbers slowly into my ears like an ASMR video or something. Then she spells my name.

The kicker is I think the girl was a product of an AI generated character i made when I was fooling around with Flux.

After a while I fall back asleep then wakeup again. I can finally breathe properly. Seriously it felt like she was in my room.

Edit: it was pretty terrifying despite the Asmr stuff.

i can only really remember one instance of sleep paralysis, paired with a fun dream about a home invasion or monster or something i barely remember. i do know that when i finally fully woke up i jumped out of bed and put my fist through a plaster wall in a really fun case of fight or flight response. the fact i didn't hit a stud and break my hand amazed me.

It happened to me around a half dozen times back when I was in grad school - 15 years ago.

I was under extreme physical and emotional stress then. My sleeping patterns collapsed. It scared me bad the first time it happened but it scared me less after I knew what was going on. It was always unpleasant though.

In my case it was triggered by stress and unstructured sleeping. So hopefully your experience will not be reoccurring.

Mine were not paired with nightmares or hallucinations. I just would wake up and be unable to move and it felt like I had to force myself to breathe.

I've had it a few times but the only time I felt like someone was there I thought it was my brother. I woke up enough to realize it was sleep paralysis and that there was no one actually there pretty quickly though.

I had sleep paralysis one time where I woke up and saw a shadowy man crawling through my open window into my bedroom. I literally sat there staring at him until I snapped out of it and my window went back to normal. It was creepy

That must have been so intense for you to react like that. For me I've always felt exhausted and horrified.

Sorry to hear that man. For me its incredibly irregular and maybe triggered by a change in how I sleep or the position im in.

My friend just reminded me I watched a horror movie before bed. Maybe that triggered it. It was Siren (2016) so holy shit its related.

Sounds kinda hot.
I've experienced sleep paralysis throughout my life, but luckily, not within the past year or so.

I'm also glad that I never experienced the hallucinations others seem to; just that I'd be unable to move until I willed a leg to work, or something.

Anyway, I always feel like I'm the only person in the world who has never had sleep paralysis. It seems like everyone gets it. But I've never had it happen. I wouldn't even know it was a thing if not for the internet

I used to see shadow people all the time when I was a kid. I only had sleep paralysis once, though. My "demon" ran over to the bed and tried to attack me.

As others have posted, I've has sleep paralysis throughout my life, but I've never seen shadowy figures or demons. I just can't move , which often feels as if I can't breathe . And it can be difficult to snap out of it.

My mom didn't believe me when I told her about it, and I don't think my husband really believes in it either.

FWIW, TC, mine is worse when I am sleep deprived. I can have multiple bouts within a half hour's time when I am very, very tired.

Sleep paralysis isn't that scary if you can surmise that that's what's happening.

Thanks for bringing this up. I actually had a nap earlier in the day before going to sleep. I think that contributed to it too. For me at least I think changing things about my sleep pattern increases the chances of inducing it.

Is that what causes that levitating dream feeling? I think that might be the closest thing Ive experienced to what you are describing but my brother has RLS and has said that he gets sleep paralysis from time to time and its hard for him.

Also, sorry you experienced that sounds really awful.

I suffer from sleep paralysis, and have my whole life. It mostly happens when I "oversleep". Whenever I do get it, I have to really focus and try to wiggle my fingers or toes or do something to wake myself up.

If someone moves me or shakes me that has helped. Sucks when combined with insomnia and nightmares.

I think that might be a form of being conscious whilst sleeping, which is what sleep paralysis is also. I've had that levitating feeling too but it feels totally different from having a female entity visit me whilst I sleep.

Quite the opposite of sleep paralysis. My little brother used to have night terrors while sleep walking. So he'd wander around the house at night and start randomly screaming for his life. Absolutely terrifying. He once banged on my door begging for help, I open the door and he's fucking standing asleep. His screams now a quiet sob once I opened the door for him.

I've had it about 10 times in my life, but I don't think I've ever had the hallucinations people talk about.

Luckily Ive never had sleep paralysis. I dont even dream except for maybe like once every couple of years.

I do think I have exploding head syndrome though
Ive had it twice, scariest moments of my life

First time happened after watching The Nightmare, a documentary on sleep paralysis
https://www.twitch.tv/dtake86
When I first bought my house I had a sleep paralysis episode. I woke up and felt there was a presence above me. I tried to move but couldn't. It felt like it was draped across my stomach like this +
My arms wouldnt work. It then stops.

While I trusted the people I bought it from.
I found out later she was a friend of a friend. She knew alot about the house. I sadly forgot to ask her about unusual happenings. She has since passed on

All I know there were 5 other owners. So maybe someone died.

So yea like my topic the other day. There is good evidence of something supernatural around me.

Had it a couple of times before. I'd heard about it before, so kinda figured what was happening. Would be awful if I didn't know what was happening.

If it helps anyone, the first few times I tried really hard to move (unsuccessfully) and they were the worst bouts. I stopped trying to move around and fight it the more recent times, and it passed much easier.
I'm not convinced it was the ai, it's just you literally only have one type of woman and of course your sleep demon would look kind of like that.

I've only had it a few times, and the most recent I was old/experienced enough to recognize it and just wait it out.

However, when I was about five I had one that fucked me up so bad that to this day I can't sleep on my back, so, like, it's a crapshoot.

I'm always kind of excited when I get sleep paralysis because whatever I'm seeing or hearing in that moment feels real, and that is fascinating to me.

Yeah, this stuff happens to me every time I stay up for more then 24 hours and I'm super exhausted. Its why I always sleep with a light on nowadays. I call them night terrors.
