I wouldnt put him at the top tier level but he definitely has stuff that has really cracked me up. For what its worth I enjoy his skit work way more than his stand up. His stand up sometimes has an odd flow/pacing to it and he pauses and grins a lot like waiting for you to join in on what he finds amusing.
When he hosted SNL some of those skits were damn good. The first thing I ever saw him in was the plane crash skit I found on YouTube. So yeah I think hes one of those guys that would THRIVE in like a peak Madtv era but his actual standup? Its got some laughs but overall its nothing special. His strength is skits and just talking and telling stories in a podcast environment.
