A man on the street told everyone that I killed Charlie Kirk

Im in my car at a busy intersection and theres this older white man on the street corner with a megaphone and two signs. One sign says The Left Is Evil and the other sign says The Left Killed Charlie. Hes screaming into his megaphone about how horrible the Left is.

Im at the corner of the intersection with my windows down waiting for the light to go green. He turns his attention towards me. He says to me You personally killed Charlie. What is it like being a demon and a terrorist? Everyone honk at this demon and tell him to go back to where he came from.

I do not acknowledge this man. I turn my music up to max volume to drown out his words. However, I do hear several cars honk probably in support of what he said. Keep in mind that I am African American and this is the state of Ohio.

Genuinely ruined my day. I have no idea what its like in the other states right now but living in Ohio is complete torture as a minority. Cannot tell you how many times people(usually white) came up to me on my college campus back when I was in undergrad asking me when I was going to sell drugs. Cannot tell you how many times people(again usually white) have come up to me telling me Im jacked or Im muscular because Im black. I guess being black is the cheat code to having a muscular body. Not hard work or anything.

I thought things were bad for black people under Trump the first term. But compared to now 2016 America is almost quaint.

edit: Not that it matters, but I'm also a black guy in America, and it's hard. Even in blue states like NY I have to keep my guard up in way I never had before. And I get very nervous when I have to travel out of state.

As someone who grew up in Ohio, it is with all the love and wisdom in my heart that I say unto you:

Fuck Ohio. It's a jumped up Right Wing hellhole that's been trying to re-invent itself as Mississippi Lite since 2012. It so desperately wants to be a crappy southern state, but ends up being what a sheltered white suburban kid thinks a souther state is like, instead. Leaving the state was the best decision I ever made, and I'm glad LeBron took 80% of the state's economy with him on his way out.
