every US citizen woukd have to go to a Christian church at least once a week or be arrested. This video mentions it

https://youtu.be/5rgVsfflz1Y?si=JqiWFzLfZ426RghJ

I hated going to church as a kid. Nowadays I just go once a year to keep my parents happy on Christmas eve.

Oh and Project 2025 is apparently 48% complete
Even Christians would be against that lmao
What are you in for?

I didn't go to church.

Nah, not most of the commercial 'Christian Lite' folks running around, they would love this. Guaranteed tithe too I'm sure.

I'm basically not talking to my family right now because they decided to push the topic of going to church after I have very openly not been going for almost 2 decades now.
Your memes.... end here.
Do they even talk about the New Testament at church anymore? Seems to me these MAGAts only care about Old Testament stuff. Theyve certainly taken the Christ out of Christianity.

The n New Testament has Trump as Christ.
Id like to see them try to arrest me for this.

Could probably have their cult leader get an island he knows about for cheap. Don't think the owner is using it anymore and he was real good friends with Donnie.

This, above anything else they could get up to, would be the breaking point.

Everything else has been something that impacts a minority or other. This would get the people riled.

Though one wonders how you enforce it, or without due process, prove that you even went to church if the state says you didn't

Yeah for real. They don't spend time stopping people in the streets, or handing out fake 20 dollar bills to servers disguised as a tip but in reality is some literature about God, or stand in the heat of the summer going door to door to spread the word of Jesus. A lot of the right would applaud this.

Unenforceable.

Disgusting all the same, but no way it could actually be reliably implemented in a cost effective manner.

Without due process being mandated, they'd just have to claim you didn't go to Church and arrest you on the spot.

Doubt.

MAGA is full or Karen boomers who think they are special with Jesus. Also incel young people.

These groups are not big go to church every week or even every monthers.

Only about 50% of Evangelicals go to Church weekly
Can't go to church if you got arrested for not going to church.

Checkmate Christians.

the irony is a MAGA will probably see this and think to themselves "take that godless liberals!" and not realize they are a said person who doesn't go to church weekly

many in MAGA are that stupid (degeneralized for gfaqs)

Church is for those that need it. I dont. No thank you. All the Christians I ever have met in my life need to spend more time and actually follow the messages taught.
All the iron turn to rust. All the proud men turn to dust. All things time will mend
They believe God owns your soul, so they want you in the Church even though you can do it by video easily.

People used to the freedom to do what they want will not take kindly to suddenly being forced to go to a church under threat of arrest.

The difference between what is going on with ICE and this is that what ICE is doing isn't affecting the vast majority of people. Yes, it carries scary implications but your average American doesn't even see ICE in the streets (yet).

This would be an entirely different ball game to try to play. And about as soon as you got a bunch of disgruntled pissed off people in a building that is preaching beliefs different or even counter to their own, is when you'd see churches turn into easy recruiting grounds for actual anti-fascists.

For this to be successful, it'd have to come 5+ years from now once you've gotten everybody on the same general page of the Bible. Without that, it's a ticking time bomb.

I have seen nothing in the last 10 years to lead me to believe people will finally snap out of it and rebel against the overt crushing of the not insanely rich.

Unenforceable and damn well a pipe dream.

How are they even going to attempt to implement it? People are gonna go ballistic over such a thing.
Of course the lot of megachurch scumbags would be all over this.

Because up to this point it's been stuff that people *think* they want.

Very few people actually want, under threat of arrest, to be made to go to Church. Very few people want to be actually made to do anything.

Additionally, a core aspect of the group that Project 2025 won on the back of is punishing others because those supporters are the good ones and don't deserve to be punished at all. The moment the whip starts getting cracked back at those supporters is when things will crumble. It will be slow. It will be messy.

When those who feel they're (inherently) innocent start getting treated as guilty, is when the ruling class loses their grip.

That'll work in a red state, but not in blue states.

This is one of those things that conservatives can have on a wishlist, but its too unenforceable to implement in a cost effective manner. It'll be too costly to make the blue states comply to a law that is a slam dunk unconstitutional case.

I actually watched the video. He opines that it would likely be similar to Nazi Germany. State approved churches would be tithes weekly. Obviously dont agree with either scenario, but thought Id provide the context. He also along with us realizes its be hard to enforce otherwise and quite unlikely but unfortunately not necessarily impossible in todays climate. :/

I think it's less about enforcing it and more about giving them 1 more avenue to oppress dissidents and those who are against the administration. This obviously wouldn't be used against rich people, just a small fine if anything for them. But start getting names of protestors, for instance? Now your little gazpacho Nazis can round them up for not attending church enough.
